InArt: 1/6 Superman (Cavill)

Moved to Justin's review now and his figure has herpes on the lips and it isn't symmetrical. I have preordered 4 of this and whoever follows the thread from the start probably remembers me praising this figure 24/7.
The flaws I see truly kill my hype, was already disappointed with the sculpt downgrade. When I pay 400$ for a toy I don't want to hear ''it is what it is''

Here the joints and underlying body they chose makes the suit look cheap due to how thin the material is, in comparison to the older HT version.

No idea how you can say this with a straight face. HT body proportions and suit is absolute joke in comparison.

the first 3 numbers on my order from Kit is 124. I don't know what batch that would be. When did this first go up for preorder anyway? My email says I ordered October 10 last year.

Gotta say the angry sculpt does nothing for me. It's beautifully sculpted but makes him look ugly as hell and is not at all how I'd want the character represented in my collection.

It may not have fit the tone of the movie, but I would have much rather had a smiling Cavill sculpt instead.

Oh man, for real right! It's just such a major upgrade in every way. On the JL Superman HT finally went with an actual chromed body, which helped sell the suit a little better. But otherwise, it's just no contest. In my opinion there isn't a single aspect that Hot Toys has done better than InArt on this figure.

Figure looks absolutely fantastic to me.
A very obvious upgrade compared to HT's efforts.

If you have a problem with this "downgrade" I suggest you stop collecting. If I asked you if these were two different sculpts or just the same one with different lighting, you would just be guessing. I know it. You know it. We all know it.

Agreed, it's a phenomenal sculpt, arguably better than the relaxed face. BUT, I have no interest in a rage filled Superman figure. It's just not the character to me. It'd be like having a smiling Batman. No thanks.

That was never going to happen with Superman. No rooted hair, relatively few accessories compared to other characters, and it's not like Hot Toys completely missed the shine effect on their suit. This is an improvement across the board, but apart from the headsculpt, it doesn't make the Hot Toys look bad by any means.

Yup as Dean showed, it should be easy to compensate for any slight downgrade with the right lighting. And if you're lighting your figures from straight on with no shadows, you're doing it wrong anyway.

You truly don't see a difference there or just pretending? Sculpt is great nobody's denying that, but its a downgrade, no sane person can deny that.
