Do you want Sure I would Love to know. As far as calibrating your tv there are some youtube videos with whatever tv model you have to help get it calibrated properly. Biggest think for calibration is turning off the smoothing effect to get rid of the soap opera feeling and getting your color levels balanced. From what you described watching the movie though your TV has to be pretty close if not there already. My TV tells me if its a 4K, or blu ray and if it is Dolby, Dolby Atmos or just HDR. I have an LG model. You picked up a sony one right?.

Yes, I got the Sony 75 inch. Doesn't tell me if I have a 4K or BR or if it does I'm not paying attention. I do see a Dolby thing in the top right corner once I load the disc.

OK< so the shot you'll never see the same way is: In Last Crusade, in the establishing shot of "Hatay" (scene where Donovan gives the 'king' his Rolls Royce) watch the two little smoke columns from smoke stacks... when the title card "Hatay" disappears so does the FX smoke. Its very strange.

I actually only just noticed it. On the old BR, that shot is horribly grainy and I wanted to see the difference. The old shot has two bird flying which are not seen in the new 4K correction because this is one shot that they have brightened up the sky.

Disappearing smoke is on both versions though -- so the 4K guys never saw that either.

That's huge. Way bigger than mine.

I wanted the 85 inch... but the 75 had the better picture.

You do start to see artifacts in old movies when watching 4K at that size. I can't say the Indy movies are crystal clear like a more modern Marvel movie. Even the difference from Raiders 1981 to Matrix 1999.

I just can't but Crystal Skull must look beautiful. It's amazing that all the other Indy movies are from the 80's. But soon almost half will be in the new millennium. :slap

Supposedly KOTCS looks the worst due to so much of it being upscaled 2K CGI compared to the true 4K opticals of the three previous films.

Interesting. Someone here posted earlier that Skull looked the best... but I remember hearing what you said before actually. Good. Poo-poo Skull anyway. If I watched it I have no idea what scene I would even want to rewatch. Nothing jumps to mind. The truck chase is so ridiculous and CGI'd. The only shot I remember being impressed by was the rise of the swirling space ship and the flooding of the basin all in one shot as Indy watches.

I will have to remember that when I watch it tomorrow. Crusade is only good to me because of Connery and Ford's chemistry. I wish the tone was more like Raider's and not quite so slapstick. Some great moments in the movie but overall I would give it a 6 out of 10. My Tv flashes it quick when it loads up to say what the source is. If I blink I miss it. Hope we get some more classic movies in 4k cleaned up like this one. Really nice overall.

They should have made one in the 90s.
