I didn't throw a tantrum about it. I canceled my 2 regulars and kept my exclusive which came damaged so I sent it back for a replacement. I didn't go around crying that I didn't get the figure I wanted like a spoiled child.

Before yesterday we all thought this line was over and SS surprised us with another announcement and the news that there will be more figures and all anybody can do around here is complain that they didn't get the figure they wanted next. Wah! :monkey2

Who do you mean we pilgrim?

But c'mon guys, let's keep things civil please.

well to be a ^^^^ to the ones ripping indiana jones. i heard there going back to there old desgins with predator and he is going to be a bug with a cockroaches head. and get this there remaking the terminator series of movies. using shaquille oneill because he was the best actor and they liked him for his role in steele.
can you imagine this, i can were already getting a karate kidremake. hey in 10 yrs were going to get another batman. it' will be only great if the costar overdosed like a crack head..

I'm just happy the line isn't dead. Oh wait...it will be after this figure.

What the ^^^^ is stopping them from making Mola Ram, with a ripped Indy shirt as the exclusive? Make anything you like, but to not make the single most visually interesting figure in the original films is just stupid.

I will still buy this - unlike Belloq, which even I can't bring myself to buy - but I'd rather be buying something I'm excited about rather than something that I just want next to my other, better Indy's.

WTF is going on here, but yeah I know most people aren't too happy with this choice but I'll bite. The Indy line needs some love and out of that love I hope Mola Ram appears. Support your local Indiana Jones line.

Thats exactly what Hasbro said for a few months, buy the ToD stuff during hte holidays and we'll make a Raiders wave 2. Then when to Hasbro's surpsrise the ToD wave sold, they revealed that in reality that was all BS and ToD wave was the last we were going to get.

And as far as we know from the SS rumor mill, they only had one more Raiders figure planned and nothing else. So this is apparently it.

Another waste of the Indiana Jones license, just like with Gentle Giant, Hasbro, and Noble props.

I think that rationale is a bit extreme comparing the two lines. SSC hasn't released crap product (IMO like Hasbro did at first excluding the TOD and TLC wave) so we aren't waiting for the "Temple of Doom" wave so to speak. I think getting upset over another Indy figure (which btw has never been made) is a bit silly. Could it have been a "better choice" sure, but that's all subjective. Lets relax and enjoy the line for what its worth. :duff

Really, what about Belloq?

Wrong hair color, poor overall likeness, terrible tailoring, wrong color shirt, and wrong tie pattern.

Indy's jacket doesnt have a zipper? Would that have really been that hard to do? And the new body they use, read around, loads of members here sent there figures back bcuz the joints were so loose and the replacements were just as bad or worse.

Thats why Belloq, and Indy are both still in stock on the SS site.

Oh and btw Hasbro released a 12" version of this Indy so its been made.

And as I pointed out, its downright bad decision making to make a figure your website already has and can't sell, and to make it less interesting then that one you already still have laying around.

They would have to give us an immediate edition size of like 100 and even then I'm passing. And I collect almost anything Indy, look at my collection. To me, that says most casual fans are easily going to pass and lack of interest means dead line.

This figure like 5 or 6 characters down the road, Id be thrilled, but this almost certainly means the end of Indy and means I cant get a Mola Ram, Henry, Elsa, Vogel, Sallah, Marion or Shortround.

Wrong hair color, poor overall likeness, terrible tailoring, wrong color shirt, and wrong tie pattern. Easily fixed.

Indy's jacket doesnt have a zipper? *sigh* Come on man its a doll. Would that have really been that hard to do? See customer service replacemements.
Thats why Belloq, and Indy are both still in stock on the SS site. Uh maybe it's because of the high edition size for Indy? And Belloq, thats a moot point. Most figures are in stock after they are released.

They would have to give us an immediate edition size of like 100 and even then I'm passing. Why should edition size matter? That shoudln't factor into whether you make a purchase, and if it does then you are in it for the wrong reasons. And I collect almost anything Indy, look at my collection. To me, that says most casual fans are easily going to pass and lack of interest means dead line. I doubt it, no ones knows.

Easily fixed really? By buying an extra shirt from ebay and having it sent through customs for like $12 when thats something they should have had right from the beginning. The figure was called Rene Belloq, not Almost Rene Belloq.

But if signing up for ebay, signing up for a credit card, and having it sent from another country is easy...

I payed enough for him, I should have to pay nothing extra to make him look like hes supposed to.

The doll excuse is beyond lame. Even $10 barbies have functional zippers man.

And I dont know too many young 12 yr old girls with $90 dolls.

As for the bodies, the replacements they recvieved as pointed out were just as bad or worse. So its not a customer service issue, its a logistics issue and a design flaw.

The edition size does not matter to me, what I mean is thats the only way it'll sell to casual people, if they think its limited and they can flip it. I dont care if they make 5 and i can nab 4, Im passing on it because its crap.

Edition size matters to people, you people who think it doesnt are in denial. Thats not what it should be about I agree, but the thruth is simple. Its a factor.

I have a gold idol from Raiders thats one of only 18 in existance, you think edition size doesnt matter to the people who constantly PM me asking where they can get one only to be dissapointed to learn there are only 18 floating around?

I love this board. It's more amusing to watch than reality TV.

Oh man.

And people were playing kinda nice for a while.

It's supposed to be FUN, folks....a little back-n-forth about the figure is one thing, but the tone is getting out of hand...as DN said earlier...keep it civil, please.

Then you'll love this...

This is a rather astonishingly bad choice for only the 4th character in this line.
Especially after the critical drubbing of Belloq.
Rather this should be the last figure to come out if at all.
(Yeah, the potential irony of my last sentence isnt lost on me:rolleyes:)
If SS thinks Im going to bite at a ^^^^^ sandwich just because it comes with a tasty side dish theyve got another thing coming.
I didnt bite at the laughable attempt at Belloq and Im not going to be tempted by this last lazy offering.

Seriously, does SS engage in self fulfilling prophecy?
"We'll end the line if the figures dont sell well...oh look, the last two figures didnt sell well. I guess there's no market for this line" :duh
Now here's the really sad part: If the german uniform were Did quality and the sculpt likeness and paint ops were HT quality Id bite without hesitation.
But SS doesnt have it in them to put out that kind of quality at the 1/6th level for this line.

Do you guys ever sit around the offices at SS and actually ponder why it is you put such a lower quality 1/6th figure than HT?
Again, seriously what does it come down too? Better connections at the Chinese factories? The language barrier? What? You must know.
Im dumbfounded that such a high profile company has this on going problem.
Im guessing Did is a company half your size but quality of the clothes is substantially better.
Why?

Do the guys at SS R&D look at the forums? Did I miss the dozens of threads screaming for a german uniform Indy?
Everyones screaming for Henry Sr, Marion, Molla Ram,Sallah and Toht (..and Wor gar thanks you:D)

So can we expect the one eyed Cairo monkey man next? Maybe Jock the pilot? (That is if we are lucky and the line doesnt end by the next qtr)
Geez SS step up to the plate.:peace

If your talking about me and Deak I don't think either of us have been uncivil to one another? Have we? I mean were not name calling here or anything. I thought a back and forth was exactly what was going on.

I went a little off on kl241 a page back on one post but thats because he singled me out instead of keeping the discussion on the figure.

Anyway I'm certainly not mad at anyone here obviously. My frustration lies with the people at SS.

Why don't you guys get together some capital and some investors and start your own 1:6 company and make the figures you want. Until then, buy what they offer or simply pass. They aren't going to shut down production of this figure because you guys won't stop complaining about it. Take it or leave it and move on. Some of us are actually looking forward to this.

...and now we return to our regular discussion.... :)

For the record, I'm fine with this "choice"...I don't have the elusive Hasbro version, I don't want to make the effort to hunt down parts to make my own (cheers to those that do) and I like this "version" of the character...:whip...so it works for me.

Oh, some people are looking forward to it? Well then, I guess there's no more room for discussion. Let's go ahead and lock this thread.
