That's actually No Ticket Indy but I think what you guys really want is Bureaucratic Fools Indy. :whip

I'm asking is this the absolute bottom of the barrel of possible Indy variants or do you think there is another that is less desirable or less popular?

I'd say where he puts on the ticket collector outfit above would be something we don't need. This is a cool moment in the film one I had hoped we'd see made. Its funny that it's ok to customize the original Indy into this figure but not have one made by SS.

How about Indy in his bathrobe when Marcus comes to talk to him about the ark and he starts packing for his adventure or better yet Indy in FBI interrogation outfit.

Ahhhh Venice Indy!

Prediction:

This figure will be the death of the indy 12'' line.

Are you kidding? Indy is the new Action Man. He's got a new figure and a new outfit for every occassion. Forget G.I. Joe. Forget J.J. Arms. Forget Big Jim. If Adventure has a name, it must be Indiana Jones.

I think I'll go with Sideshow's market research on this one, rather than a few rantings on a messageboard. As I said above, in an Indiana Jones line, Indy variants are always a safe bet.

I dunno. Your idea = failure. The Indy license has proven it's more collector-based than appealing to the mass market. That didn't really work for either scale of Hasbro's or even Medicom's line (they're still available too!). Additionally, your argument would have more weight if Sideshow's initial, and near perfect, offering of Indy wasn't still rotting on their website sans Wait List status. :lol

I'm not getting why this figure is generating so much negativity.

It's the main character in an alternate outfit from the original film, it will fit in well on display with the others already released (or about to be), it features a good sculpt and decent looking outfit.

How many figures of Luke have we seen already in the SW line? Other than Yavin Ceremony Luke, none of them have received the bad feedback this one is getting...

Judging from the preview picture, I think this figure looks fine...and if releasing another version of Indiana Jones himself helps keep this line going while other characters are developed for release, that's fine too.

That's kinda irrelevant. How many figures were released in between Jedi and Yavin? You can't even really argue the Anakins either as the variant was an SDCC exclusive. This looks like a general release.

Oh brother...sorry I brought it up. Man, 30 pages in, one picture, not even PPO'd yet and already this figure's been drawn and quartered...

There must be days the folks at Sideshow don't even want to turn on the lights after looking in here...

I hope that doesn't happen. :(

It's ok to customize anything. I haven't read any anti-custom posts.

This guy is taking up a slot that a different character or cooler version of Indy could have occupied is alls I'm saying. Hope this guy is affordable and that there are a lot of German Indy fans like you to buy him up so that the rest of us can eventually get the cooler figures. :whip

Hey now! :lol I never said I wouldn't buy it. I said I'd be completely uninterested unless the exclusive is a necessity and/or they toss in the German headsculpt of the soldier Indy punked for the outfit. Keep in mind though, again, if it's screen accurate, Indy should have no other accessories save the rocket launcher and German uniform, be shirtless beneath and the coat should be too tight on the body (which means they'll either go with a normal fitting coat or need to include a smaller body if they do the German headsculpt). Without the aforementioned extras, does this piece still sound appealing at $100? :huh

Basically though, only 3 figures in, we're tossed the 4th which is an uninspiring variant that several have already bashed with the extra hatless sculpt we got with the original. Not exactly a good followup to the turd that was Belloq.

If they can't sell out of the title character in his iconic original incarnation, what hope would all those supporting characters have anyway? I think that's more an indication that the Indy license in general is a hard sell - which is probably why we never saw any new figures until the latest theatrical release.

I think you hit the nail on the head.

There haven't been any anti-custom posts made. I'm talking about those that made their own from the original Indy. That seems to how can SS make this since I made one already. That's great you did. SS has made one now for those like me that don't want to make one. I'm making a Map Room Indy. That could very easily be a SDCC item and I'll get it go with the one I'm making.

I've heard that excuse many times over the years when it comes to lines. People don't like a choice and one way to bash it is it took a spot for something else. That's lame at best since it can be used with any character no matter the choice. I mean right now in the SW line we have no Dooku but we've got Plo Koon and Kit Fisto. So that excuse is a no go for me.

Cooler verions of Indy? Other than him not wearing a sleeve in TOD, a Last Crusade, or KOTCS version those I think most folks would consider "cool". I mean everything else is just different outfits. I don't think the suit from the start of TOD is cooler than this and I've seen that mentioned. Map Room would have been another choice but I'm sure it would have gotten bashed. The rest are just him in suits. So having him in this outfit will be pretty cool. I don't see where this isn't a cool option because outside of Map Room Indy there isn't another option for outfits from ROTLA.

As far as the "cooler" figures thats pretty subjective. What you may or others deem as "cool" may not be by others. So thats another lame way of trying to knock this choice. It may not be some of yours cup of tea but that in by no means make it lame. I don't care what whitty reply comes back from a number of my fans or this figures fans.

I made my own using the bazooka from the Hasbro figure and I'm still getting this. People are acting like the sky is falling just because it's the next figure and it isn't the one they wanted next. Let's face it, if Club Obi-Wan Indy in the tuxedo had been announced, not German Indy, they'd still be complaining that it's a lame boring figure and is an omen of the death of the line. Sideshow can never win. Sometimes I really feel bad for them.

I agree. The only way to have won here was to announce was mola raam. For me I'd rather have him or sallah over say marion.
