Fairweather Freaks: They b****. They moan. They pay $$$. :lol

Wrong. There is no way I will buy this figure. And I'm sure I'm not alone. This will either be an extremely low (non-profitable) ES or these will be sitting in the warehouse for eons with Buffy Giles and Endor Rebels.

This line is toast.

I am happy that I got what I REALLY wanted: an Indy and a TOHT! :) So for me it's not a total loss. Stoked that Toht made it up there in the top 3 figures to make.

But in all seriousness I am saddened to see the line go this way. I would so much have liked a Marion and Mola Ram to finish it off. I had already resigned myself to not getting Sallah and so many others that seemed possible when this first was announced. I bet the guys at SS are bummed too. I'm sure they would have liked to make many more and make more money while doing it.

Just to reiterate, I'm NOT getting this figure either. I doubt many will. I expect a very low ES. I expect this will be around a long, long time. Eventually SS will say it sold out. Two months later we'll get a newsletter saying "we just found a few German Indys..." blah-blah-blah.

Oh well. Back to SW...

Seriously, the only rational conclusion I can think of is that they want the line to die.

I hope it's not the end, but if it is, what a sour note to go out on. Who wouldn't have preferred Marion or Mola Ram or Henry Snr. or even tux Indy instead of this figure?? *sigh* Time will tell if this strategy was a disaster or not. Doesn't seem like too many except the most obstinate are eager about the decision to put off bigger, more in demand characters for this Indy variant.
:gun

The price surprised me. Figured it would be about the same as Belloq at whatever he came in at. I did use my points on him and I think dropped him to $85. I think for what he comes with its still a bit much but I love Indy so I got it.

I have to ask did I miss SS announcing the line was ending in the newsletter tonight?

I can't wait to get this figure next year....on giftcard...for free. I have very little doubt that he won't be joining the ranks of Captain Antilles and Ilum Padme.

No. Just a bunch of Chicken Littles who think the sky is falling over one figure. Can't wait for the next announcement. Hopefully it will be something to shut the naysayers up.

I wanted Marion and Sallah to go with my Indy before anything else. The variant is neat for those of us who can't kitbash or don't want to hunt the net to get the appropriate pieces but the price doesn't fit the offering IMHO. I let go of Belloq due to finances but I canceled Toht because I don't want to infuse cash into a dead line. I'll take the cash I saved from the Toht exclusive and just buy an Ark out right. Unless they provide something astounding as their next offering then I am completely out.

That can't be argued, overreacting is common place but in reality GI Joe has definitely overtaken my Indy interest and with figures around the same pricepoint I think that is where the safe money is. I got my Indy and am happy with it....that's enough for me.

I'm still trying to gauge how disappointed I really am..... No second head? Come on! If there's an Indy that deserves a hatless head it's this one (Club Obi too, of course).... D^^^ it!!!

I buy what I like for however long things last. I don't worry about it but I guess that goes for being in this game long enough.

I agree. I think there might be some slight over reacting but then again that's common place here. :lol

Didn't we all say that about LOTR? :)

I do think that there's another PF coming. But this figure might just kill the 1/6th Indy line. None of these have sold well, and this is expected to be the worst yet. SS can't justify staying onboard with sales like this. So, granted, there may be other figures in development... I can't see them spending the cash to make 3,000 of yet another figure for a lackluster line.

Would a figure at SDCC surprise me? Yes and no. If there's any chance of one more figure -- and that's one more -- it's at SDCC. But I'm kind of feeling that SS will expend its energies elsewhere than toss another Indy figure into the fire here.

Again, I hope I'm wrong.
