I agree about the ab section but like I said in my video, it didn't bother me too much especially since the look of the figure all around is better. I think another reason they went this route is because it can be posed in pieces on the table. So maybe they felt the articulation wasn't the main point for this version?

They need to find a way to put the ab articulation in before they reissue it! He looks great, just stiff.

Yea, I hope they work on that. Just pulled out my BD Mrk3 today, he's got a bad case of pink panties and pink collar from just sitting in the box! I am really hoping for a better Mrk 3 rerelease!

Man I'm so bummed my Mark II is packed up at the moment. My own photos are mocking me. Can't wait till this move is over and done with.

Got a problem with mine. The LED on the right arm just stopped working. Tried several sets of new batteries. No luck. Anyone got any suggestions for a fix? I'm way past Sideshow's 30 day warranty and this isn't a "defect" anyway; it was fine when I got it.

So I'm SOL unless I can fix this myself. I'm no electrician but I can follow instructions. Any help gang?

All that being said, it's an AWESOME figure. I love it to death. I'll put pics in another post.

thanks!

p.s.
I did several searches and I'm willing to bet $2 that this has been discussed already. But I couldn't find it. Couldn't come up with good search terms.

Some photos.
Feedback/suggestions on how to improve my shots would be appreciated. I'm mostly concerned about my total lack of composition skills. Although....when you're doing macro portraiture.....is composition even an issue? That's a genuine question, btw.

(this next one is one of my faves. Used an e-cig to direct some vapor at the arc reactor to get that "blast" type shot)

No photos of the best stuff yet. Been having carpal tunnel issues that started just after the Mark II arrived. Yeah that sucks for me.
And by "best stuff" I mean all the detailing on the armor innards. It's misery trying to do photos when it feels like your knuckles are going to explode or your hands/forearms are on fire/filled with army ants.

The main issue I see with the medium and close shots is lack of head space. You generally want some space above the head. The wikipedia article is pretty good on it and has some good illustrative pictures.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headroom_(photographic_framing)

Likewise you should look into the "Rule of Thirds" which is basically a poor man's golden proportions. It gets the job done without much thinking.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds

Photoshop actually includes a grid by default when cropping to help with the rule of thirds. There's also this book I high recommend. Might be a little too much book for your needs, but it pretty much is what it says it is. Design principles are used in all the visual arts so are very useful in painting, ad design, sculpting, photography, and pretty much anything else.

I really like this pic, very creative!! :clap:clap

Too bad the Repulsor lights are not as bright, it would look cool having the light jump out of his palms, just like on his chest.

Yeah it would be awesome if the repulsor lights were as bright as the arc reactor. Like everyone else has said, that thing is blinding on all the Hot Toys Iron Man figs, but it seems even brighter on this one.

Dedguy, thanks much for the tips. I'm aware of the Rule of Thirds but it just never occurs to me when I'm doing portrait-type photos. I guess it's just a matter of making it a habit. Every now and then I DO remember it, like in this one:

Right? I didn't take headroom into account though. But I *am* doing the 1/3 thing right in those two....right? I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm genuinely not sure and I appreciate your input! I seem to be invisible in most photography forums. I'll post a photo not just of action figures, but mostly portrait-type shots since I don't get out of the freakin' house much due to health problems. But I get very little or no responses. Hell I'd even appreciate negative responses, heh heh.

At least you guys in here respond to the pics I post! So thanks!

I can't wait to get mine. I should have it with in 2 weeks. Just need that MK I now to complete the Iron Man Armours. Until HT release the MK VII that is.
