I have some spare lids and have done some work on one when i first got the Lacquer paint for the MKVII chest piece.
Clear Red from Gaia Colour, just sprayed onto a normal MKII empty head:

Hell no! Get it now. This really is one of the best of the Marks. It's got so much going on. And it's just a great suit. Lots of time in the flicks too if you're into that. The virtual walk-around scene is one of my favs in all the Marvel flicks.

Think you don't need a review, just compare the specs to decide what's important for you.

Armor unleashed version:

- Rhodey's head in one helmet
- has more details as display option under the outer armor but can be a full Mark II, too
- holographic arm piece in the eclusive version

- nice stand alone Arc Reactor accessorie
- addtional pedestal with armor display in the eclusive version
- much more pricey set

If the price doesn't matter and you'd like to display him with the full armor, I'd recommend to get the original version with the accessories.
Otherwise I can really recommend the armor unleashed version, really great details.

Since I haven't really seen a lot (any?) comparison pics between new and old I focused on doing that. Also took a photo with a bit of brushed steel from an Apple trackpad and some chromed magnets.

The articulation is more limited in some respects and less limited in others and makes for a more posable figure when compared to the old MkII. I actually don't even miss the ab articulation from the other Iron Man 2 figures as really I never use it since it tends to kinda look weird.

Took a few more comparison pics. The new one has less range of movement in some areas but overall makes for more natural looking poses. The new lights are also so much brighter.

Oh and excuse the fists on the old MKII. The splayed hands are packed away in the box and I didn't feel like digging them out.

the AU paint looks more "shiny" which is more movie accurate to me.
but the original MK II cost more? what is a reasonable price for these now (opened package mint in box)?

Not really.
Eaglemoss released the Bat last week and i picked on up as reference. It's possibly the most accurate(To a point. Certain detailks are wrong, but mostly, the shape is correct, even though certain details are wrong), and will be the best item to use for scaling up(If you get my meaning).

AUV is more proportionate and shiny for sure. I never got to buy the original and quite happy with the AUV.
