Hey Bar! I know you're a blue tack maestro and it def works :)

Having all glass shelves the blue tack would drive me nuts though :lol I like the idea of using a clear gel, hoping to eliminate the stands altogether to get a little more realistic display.

Well i was thinking about an alternate method of securing figures.
Picture the shelves made of a magnetic metal. And stands with magnets, but secured to the top(Stand would extend downwards and cradle the figure just behind the waist). Positionable anywhere, and the figure would just be held by the waist, but from above.
It could work.

Interesting. You have all the good ideas, and that sounds like it would work. I'm set on using the glass Detolf shelves atm, I just love their clean look so that's why I'm inquiring about the quake hold gels. I know people have mentioned them in the past, but it was long ago.

I'd like to use a clear gel dab on each foot, and just get rid of the stands altogether. Of course, this will require the figure to have strong/solid ankle/knees joints so it doesn't topple over.

The museum gels are super strong and removable too. Someone posted a pic long ago with a shelf held vertically w/ a figurine attached to it, and that thing wasn't going anywhere.

Thank you Barry! Love this base! :wave

With the lights on, he was looking too shiny from the front, so I switched them off. But still, the photo didn't come out good. Of course, my camera is not a DSLR, but still. I really need to learn a thing or two about lighting.

just got this figure today but having a small issue with the shoulder pad.

I cannot get to have the shoulder pad going on top of the shoulder as it's hindered, please refer to the below pic circled:

how do i make it to go over the shoulder as it should be? i tried all i could and feel i'm going to break it if i force it up... :(

Though you can maneuver it with the shoulder in place.... you can also pop the shoulders out and reposition and pop the shoulders back in...

em... i still can't get to pop it out.
but even though, is that shoulder pad supposed to rub the shoulder piece as cercled on the picture?

It's in a ball joint stuck into the shoulder of the main body. The ball joint can move up as well. Looks like the ball joint is just in the down position.
While holding the arm at his side just push the ball joint up(While *keeping* the arm at his side).
It should raise up the shoulder pad.
If you pull the arm out of the socket(Holding the ARM, not the shoulder armour) you will see what i mean.

Even though it would be 1/16 scale, I've thought it would be cool to buy the new "workshop" Tony Stark figure, and add in a diecast model of the 1932 Hotrod that he has in the movie. :)

Or any really cool 1/6 car. There are some great 1/6 RC cars out there. But the detail might not hold up.

I know. :) His hands won't pose like this. Unless, I buy the Mark VII repulsor ones and paint them silver.

Well just get as close as you can, lol.

thanks for the info. The ball joint is already at the most up position though. I still couldn't find out how to take off the shoulder pads but found that it's spring loaded can be pulled up. I think the shoulder pads are something I don't like about this figure... and it actually still rub the edges between the pads and the shoulder which potentially wear the paint and dent if posing/moving the arm too much. not that i change its pose every hour or so but still... :slap

anyway picture sharing time of my new toy. no fancy pose as i like it simple :)

Great pic!
I just got an IM2 MKIV in trade for a spare MKVII i bought, and finally have MKI to MKVII and WM. My collection is complete!
For now...
I love how the MKII AU has so many display options.
Such a great piece, and well worth the cash for it!

Nice! That's how I have mine posed but with the arm missiles deployed and some of the flaps slightly open.
