People have been complaining about the possibility that Will Smith would be Captain America since the rumor broke and it started up again after Channing Tatum remarked he heard Will Smith was Cap at the recent GI Joe press junkets. It should be interesting to see where it goes and how it will play out into the general populus. Will Smith is loved by a lot of people and has major international clout...then again so does Tom Cruise and he isn't in consideration. I'm hoping that the Will Smith talk is just speculation gone to far but Kevin Feige definitely has no problem using the hype.

If you would've asked me awhile back, my choice would've been Brad Pitt with his Troy physique but with much shorter hair obviously....I know I know....The

I like TIH but IM is still a much better overall movie for me because with TIH I kinda fast forward to the Hulk action scenes vs IM where I enjoy the whole story just as much as I enjoy the action scenes with IM suited up. In other words, I don't fast forward thru IM...ever. If I'm putting it on, the entire movie will be watched.

Any white male in his late 20s early 30s who can act well. I'm really not very picky I just don't want a black guy playing a white guy. You may as well cast a Japanese guy to play him and say he was born in Germany if your gonna make him black.

RDJ as Iron Man, Ed Norton as Hulk = good casting. Will Smith would be a travesty.

I just want to see whoever it is trucking ass out of a PT boat like Tim Roth hauled ass in Hulk, climbing a cliff single handed, and tossing Nazis over the side two at a time while Bucky slits peoples throats with Hitler Youth Knives. Do you really want to listen to Will Smith's stupid remarks while all thats going down? I know I don't.

That was an awesome action scene breakdown with Bucky slicing throats and all, you gave me goosebumbs just thinking about it because everytime I think of Bucky, I envision him hobbling up the beach with his walker doing his best Nursing Home assault towards the apple sauce dish...

could always go the Isaiah Bradley route (of course most of us are sure they wont) I doubt Smith (although In my opinion is a great entertainer) will play steve rogers, however if he did...I'd watch it...dunno if I'd like it but I'd watch it....now mike comes and steals my thunder....again

I just can't see Will Smith as a serious actor so I can't see him playing that part. But then I didn't think RDJ would be a good Tony Stark and I couldn't be more wrong there.

have you seen the pursuit of happiness? I am Legend? seven pounds? will smith is a great actor and the biggest movie star in the business. Will Smith could pull off captain america no problem. the question isn't should will smith play CA, should CA be black? I personally could care less. but my top choice by far would be Brad Pitt. I would like colin farrel if he bulked up for the role, he's on a comeback roll right now. daniel craig would be another one of my choices, actually now that I think about it, he might be my first pick.

Fair point about Smith's serious roles, I'm not a big movie goer so I haven't seen any of those movies. If he can pull the role off I'm fine with him in the role.

while I prefer CA to remain exactly how he exists in the Marvel universe, IF they went for a black actor (Kingpin anyone), WS would be my top pick as well.

BUT I hope it doesn't come to that!

Also, no actor with an accent unless they're very good at eliminating it

Yea I'd be down with Gerard Butler actually.

Or even dare I say, Billy Campbell, who played Cliff Secord in Joe Johnston's Rocketeer.

Hes a bit older now but still looks ok enough, and a little maturity in age wouldn't hurt the role.

Here he is in a movie about a year ago, still looks pretty young.

you forgot Ali! he captured "THE CHAMP" completely in that movie, not to mention he gained the 30 pounds for the role and had studied the champs boxing techniques so he could mimic them perfectly, Will Smith does not get enough credit on these boards, seriously.

I give Smith credit for being a good actor but he shouldn't be Captain America.

Steve Rogers is white.

Think about it, would a bunch of old, top white Generals in WWII pick a smart mouthed black man to be the symbol of America's power. Black men were barely allowed to fight on the frontlines until later in the war, and I don't think that outside of the all black platoons, there were even any black officers.

Yea its racist but thats what it was like back then.

me too...i love will smith's movies, but i prefer someone else for the role. a corn-fed white boy---blond hair, and blue eyes should be captain america.
