Why are there so many versions of the suit in the movies? I understand the first three, but I don't get the extra ones in this.

I'm sure that there will be some sort of justification for it in the film. Even though for toys and such there was Mark 2 and Mark 3, in the story, 2 was essentially 3 in raw form, just needing tweaks and refined paint. Could be some of the IM 2 marks are stepping stones to one another.

new trailer is up:rock :rock

suitcase armour!!! :rock
not quite sold on that design though. wonder what mark it is.

and war machine looks totally bada$$!

mark V looks like crap imo, but the whole suitcase effect (no matter how impossible or ridiculous) looks pretty damn awesome!

the trailer itself looks pretty damn cool too.

I agree. The Mark V doesn't look great visually, but for what it is (an armor in a pinch) it works. But yeah, totally unbelievable nonetheless. Too bad since the first 3 armors were at least plausible if not somewhat believable.

Awesome trailer! :rock

I too am not a fan of the suitcase armour look, but the idea that he has a portable suit with him all the time is pretty cool. I already love Sam Rockwell's character :rock

And do you think AC/DC knew they were going to be played in IM2 when they wrote the song 'War Machine'? :lol

The Mark V has to be low powered or something, or else there wouldn't be a Mark VI.

The technology seems impossible though, even within the film's world. Did they base that armor-in-a-briefcase off of the Extremis concept? Even in Extremis, Tony had a superhuman ability to link with that armor. It couldn't snap together like a Transformer.

That is a point with the suitcase armor. Granted, Iron Man as a whole is a suspension of disbelief, but at least they've sort of kept it within a realistic realm, having to have his robots put him in and take him out of his armor seemed like a plausible means for getting into such a sophisticated suit, but the suitcase suit seems to magically turn into more mass than it starts as.

Sure the suit case armor isn't believable. But it is a comic book movie. Plus not having armor at all times would make Stark an easy target. It's nessasary in my opinion.

Even though I fully expect this to be fun and entertaining, it looks way too busy for one film. It seems like the filmmakers are going bigger and more over the top with the sequel, which isn't always a good thing.
