I will not see this movie twice, didn't even laugh at the funny moments. My expectations were too high considering it is Iron Man and RDJ. But in my opinion, Iron Man jumped the shark on this one. Bad way to finish the trilogy.

This movie better deliver come Thursday or i'm going to

FYI, the 3D/Blu/DVD/DC just went up on for PO. As a Rule, AS A RULE! its 3 months after it goes out of the big screen. This movie will never see the end of May in the USA (Well it may but just as a late night movie. Still)

I just think Iron Man went too "extremis"
It may have the Spiderman 3 feeling. Some people liked it and others hated it. In my case, I like Spiderman 3 more than Iron Man 3.

So I wonder if my theory is coming true and they submarined this movie on purpose to get rid of Fav and RDJ. Without them Marvel has no one standing upto them, just a bunch of replacable mediocre actors making scratch. And this movie will still make bank since RDJ was on board. Then they say, well Iron Man sells tix, it must be that they didn't like RDJ.

How did you make it this far in life with these types of irrational conspiracy theories? :dunno

I don't think it's at all far-fetched. Downey made 50 million from Avengers, even gloated about it just about 2 weeks ago and as others have pointed out Feige has already said he sees the role being recast like James Bond, meaning a continuation of the character with a differant actor but no reboot.

He's done isn't he? no more Marvel movies at this point, his contract is finished unless I'm mistaken? so why hasn't Marvel already re-signed him unless they're waiting to see how people react to this movie? They signed with Disney, they can just get Scrooge McDuck to take some cash from Money Mountain so whats the hold up?

Saw it last night. I'd say it's vastly better than 2 but still won't beat the first movie. People will hate this flick who want stuff constantly blowing up every 5 minutes.

Reminds me a bit of skyfall actually, they take everything away from him and he's forced to rely on his smarts and inventiveness to win the day. I actually loved the 'twist', prepare for the wrath of fanboys though :lol Will be a divisive film for sure.

I loved Tony's "B&Q gloves".
Very clever.
When you take a guy who could make the MKI when trapped in the desert with a gun pointed at his head, it's great to see how inventive he can get with an entire Homebase at his disposal.

Downey was on the Daily Show last night and said they are "renegotiating" and winked at the audience. He is not done. Marvel knows what an asset he is to the series. They would be stupid not to pay him at least through Avengers 2. I have the feeling we will see Downey still with this character for another 5 years.

Seeing the movie tonight. Very excited as I am a big Shane Black fan. Kiss Kiss Bang bang is one of my favorite RDJ films.

I read a quote from him today and he said that there are movie series that went three movies which rocked and there are "Batman & Robin/SupermanIV The Quest For Peace" series that should have *ended* at three movies and called it a day.
He said he would rather the Tony Stark character was fondly remembered than something that outstayed it's welcome. He also said that if there are more stories to tell, he wants to tell them.
He hinted that regardless of whether he makes any more IM movies, he is still interested in telling more Avengers stories as he views them as a different thing from normal IM movies.
I'd be cautiously optimistic.
The *true* litmus test shall be the viewing numbers from the american public in the next few weeks.

I don't know about you folks, but i think the way this movie was released(Arse-backwards from the normal way of the USA getting it first), was to further hype the movie and make US fans even MORE eager.
The "modest" box office take so far(In foreign territories that don't figure into the US success of big studio productions calculations, but which are normally the icing on the cake), has already covered the films' $200 million budget...
Now, if fans in the US wanted to see it BEFORE, they will likely be twice as eager now that they know the movie is already in profit and that the US box office normally swamps the international gross.
I'd say that promising RDJ $25 million for another sequel will be chump change to Disney. And they could even go higher.
Fingers crossed.

He's not wrong about Batman & Robin and Superman 4. Also Alien 4, Terminator Salvation (okay but not a patch on the originals, Indiana Jones 4, POTC 4 ect...

Movies tend to be done in threes at the most and then rebooted if they continue with the character otherwise they end up bad most of the time if they continue
