Finally got to see this one! I loved it! I still love the first one the best, but this one is definitely better than the second.

I didn't like two things though...

The blowing up of all the suits. I understand why, but it was a waste. The other thing...NO AC/DC!

I thought of that too, but then I thought he's made of money so he doesn't care.

I stayed out of this thread on purpose until seeing this. Just saw it and I have two general observations.

1. I knew it was a bad sign when the Mandarin waddled out of the bathroom mumbling with a Cockney accent.

2. Given that Aldrich Killian had superhuman strength and could spit fire, they should have named this film.....

Iron Man 3: The Rise of the Molten Man

I didn't have a problem with the fire people but I can see why some do. So far in the iron man franchise it's all been about engineering tech. It sat in the realm of realistic if not feasible but biological tech that changes DNA or whatever it was was a big step away from the established theme of the franchise an more like fantasy

IM1 engineering tech & suit via gantry
IM2 engineering tech & suit via gantry
IM3 DNA manipulating fire people tech & flying telepathic suit

That's quite a leap. Could almost call it shark jumping

They could've had Clayface in The Dark Knight rises, he's a villain and comic accurate but it wouldn't fit with what has been established for the series. The Fire guys were like that

Extremis worked, it's a universe with flying invisible space ships, gods and people that turn into to big green naked bulges.

Frankly, get the **** over it.

Extremis is the next step in the development of Stark's tech, the fact he didn't use it on himself annoys me more than there being 'fire people'.

I loved this movie, in fact I've loved all 3 of the Iron Man films. And The Avengers. The best comic book films of all time for me. Cap and Thor flicks also where great, but RDJ's Stark is the defining movie hero for our time. That man was born for the role, he made it work, and work to perfection. I really can't fault Iron Man 3, seen it 3 times already, and will try to see it again, work and kids allowing!
As a 38 year old man who grew up on Star Wars, Doctor Who, Superman and Flash Gordon I feel these films have taken the science fiction/fantasy genre to amazing heights. They work well for me, as a life long geek, but also for the general movie goer. It's art I tell you!

:goodpost::exactly:

and IM2 looks even more pathetic to me after IM3..IM2 has little humor, wasted plot threads, wasted characters and lame lame fight scenes. The final..can anyone out there really feel anyone was in any danger at all?

Right. This is a shared world with so many fantastical elements. It just needs to be accepted at this point. If they don't like it fine, but saying it's too fantastical?...might as well check out now. There's only going to be more of it from here on out.

TDKR comparisons don't work because that world is a singularity. Unless MoS changes that.

The whole it takes place In a shared universe thing is a weak arguement IMO

I take place in the same universe as Shieks with harems full of slave women and children starving to death in desert like environments. Militias fighting for their lives ect... but we don't interact none. Punisher could have a movie where he battles demons from a dead planet because they exist out there somewhere, but that doesn't mean he should

The Winter soldier movie could have Cap invade the Chitauri homeworld because it's part of the shared universe but would people want that for a Cap movie?

The extremis stuff was fine really, but it was a big departure from what the franchise (Iron Man series of movies) has established previously

That's what I've said before. What happened in his movie is less out there than anything we've seen in Thor, Cap, or The Avengers. Don't be shocked if the next suit we see won't be the extremis armor which will come from the hollows of his bones. People are going to crap a brick if they thought this one was too out there. :lol

this flick was very real----------------------------
REAL DUMB......................................................PERIOD
