I'll have to respectfully disagree with you. I thought the little segment they had aboard Tony's aircraft was a bit corny and forced. I don't know, I realize I'm in a small minority, but I much prefer Cheadle over Howard.

I totally agree! :exactly:

That would have been Tony's arrogant douchy behaviour. He wasn't likable in IM2 and that turned me off the character. hopefully in this he won't be a cocky pr*ck

That was one of the things I didn't like either. Of course he needs to have some arrogance and ego, like he had in the first IM. But in IM2 it went over the top IMO. Hopefully the events that happened in The Avengers have him toned down a bit.

His over the topness was a good thing honestly. His character had to go there after the first film so he could really end up in the place he did after The Avengers.

Iron Man 1 had the perfect balance imo. He was cocky and funny buy likable and seemed like a genuine guy.

In Iron Man 2 he was smug and arrogant, especially the 'i globalised world peace all by myself you should be on your knees kissing my ***' attitude and the whole pissing himself scene. He became more likable toward the end, though too little too late.

I knew they were taking cues from the Demon in a Bottle storyline but you kinda ask yourself 'why should i root for this guy if he's acting like a **** so much'.

There are lots of comic storylines where the characters act like A-Holes for some plot device or another, but i wouldn't wanna see near enough a whole film of them acting that way, cos you wanna like the character

You also have to remember though, Stark admitted that he was Iron Man. The world treats him as a higher power, therefore Tony's huge ego only grows more. That's why he's so cocky in IM2.

There's a new viral starting up for IM3, for those interested. I won't be holding my breath though. The IM2 attempt kind of sucked. Very anticlimactic.

Nonetheless, it has potential.

For IM2, they had something similar, where we could send in applications to join Stark Industries and that when nowhere. :( I got a 'thanks for the application' and that was it. (And that's all anyone ever got.) They gave out some swag at SDCC that year, which got everything going, but it fizzled out quick.

We still don't know how Guy Pierce plays into this yet do we? I mean, its kinda a given he's a bad guy, but we don't know who yet right?

According to Variety, Pearce will play the geneticist Aldrich Killian. For those who aren’t familiar with Iron Man lore, Killian and Maya Hansen (Tony Stark’s old friend) create the Extremis technology, which was a tool designed for the military that allowed nanotechnology to bond to a human. But when the military pulled the funding for the project, Killian decides to test Extremis out in a much more nefarious way.
