Iron Man to Open Early?

ComingSoon.net reports that Andrew Cripps, President of Paramount Pictures International, announced at ShoWest's International Day on Monday that Iron Man will be released Day-and-Date worldwide on April 30. What is unclear is whether that means North America will also get the movie two days earlier than the planned May 2 release. One thing to support that we will, is that Paramount is planning another Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull trailer for April, presumably with another Paramount movie, of which the biggest one would be Iron Man (if it indeed opens here on April 30.)

Depends if you want accuracy or not, there are differences especially the spacer in the cheek area that was notably filled in the Mark III. It'll be interesting to see if/when SS comes out with an Iron Man piece how many will get an additional to go Mark II on it....

Actually, I thought the suit was actually quite small at SDCC. It looks a lot bigger on film than it does in person.

I had to double check the page, I thought it was originally just a distribution from Stan Winston but it does say in partnership. Even with the 1:1 its interesting that only one piece is being offered? Compared to the offerings from Spider-Man 3???

I can't afford the 1:1 bust unfortunately, but I really want some kind of high-end product release from the movie. I REALLY don't want to depend on Hasbro for my Iron Man fill.

I was at least expecting a couple of statues maybe Comiquettes and at least one diorama....I would have even bought the busts. When I thought about Spidey 3 stuff I figured that we'd get a Mark 3 Armor bust and then the Mark 2 would have been an SDCC Exclusive. I'm just surprised nothing has come out in that same vein.

Didn't the Spidey 3 stuff sell rather poorly, maybe that has something to do with it. Altough I would expect SM3 stuff sold poorly because the movie wasn't all that good. Iron Man is going to

Kotobukiya showed off a 15-16" polystone statue of the Mark III armour recently, with full light up effects. Check out Darklord Dave's posting about same.

Although I'm hoping we will get a 24" light up maquette of the MK III from SS and SWS. If so I'll be cancelling my bust
