Statue Iron Patriot Quarter Scale Maquette by Sideshow Collectibles

Well most of the videos I have seen show a poor paint job. I really wanted this piece but didn't want to take the chance. For this much money this can't go on ... So I canceled my order and had to eat the deposit

just a heads up for the future - instead of cancelling and losing your deposit - get the statue and if it has issues - get a full refund (including shipping and your deposit) from SS.

Gonna be contraversial for a moment despite the Iron Patriot Maquette having some terrible paint applications (in some cases, atrocious paint apps) i have to say, i'm actually loving it! Putting the paint apps aside for a moment, i think its one of Sideshows best Iron Man pieces...the base is fantastic, loads of detail...probably the only part of the piece that is painted really well but what i love the most is the dynamic pose! Infact, this pose would've been amazing on say the original War Machine Maquette from IM2.

With that said, no i havent been smoking anything just wanted to spread a little happiness back into the thread and to say that i'm actually digging this piece...so bring on the War Machine V2 pre order tonight!

Sorry but, one thing is to like the pice, another thing is to throw 500$ on the repaint of this very same piece (that costs 399$)... that's basically like saying "ok Sideshow, throw quality in the bin, that's fine to me. Oh, and charge me 100$ extra for it, thanks". Can't believe people are even CONSIDERING to preorder the AoU War Machine, after the streak of crappy Iron Patriots.

All the pictures taken from a distance look good though.

The woman i pulled the other night in a dark club looked like ScarJo, the next morning in the light not so much.

Thanks Shawn its amazing what a little Photoshop can do to make a piece look good! Joke! listen, i'm gonna call it how i see it and this piece is flawed paintwise...no two ways about it...some are painted far worse than others and had i received one of those then i'd be sending mine back with no fuss. Mine is far from perfect but i feel its good enough to not warrant a refund. Ive been in touch with Sideshow and accepted a credit for the various wonky lines here and there but all in all i can't complain...

Ah. I was going to say that's a lot. They wouldn't offer me more than $100 off Megatron and then i wouldn't have been getting the replacement parts.

Yea, Sideshow are pretty inconsistent with credits and replacements i must say...all in all they've come good for me but in other certain instances they've been pretty unreasonable

I'm pretty sure you don't need to get a magnifying glass out to see the crap paint on this statue. No statue will be perfect but this one is a joke. It's fine if you like it mate. Your money your choice.

It was more the comment that my collection will have poor paint if i get really close just because this one does. No statue will be perfect but i can get really close to most of my statues without seeing rubbish paint or not very neat lines.

This IP statue may not have the best paint apps, agreed but your saying that i should write it off based on the terrible pics you've seen so far?
