The texture is accurate. That's how it looks in the movie

:cuckoo: Mumps aren't accurate, it's not how it ever looks in the movie.

I'm torn with my Iron Patriot and have the accompanying Iron Man on order as well. These are my only Iron Man pieces in 1/4 scale and I was hoping they'd look good together. The paint on my statue sucks just like everyone elses but looking at it from a few feet away on the shelf it looks so awesome! I agree with what most have said about expecting a better paint app at this price point but I just like the pose better than the GG version. I've been wanting to learn how to paint... don't see how I could screw this one up! I think the person doing the black outlining was the main culprit here. I was a bit shocked to see that Sideshow had the nerve to bump up the price another $100 for the war machine repaint given the execution on the patriot. It is a little heart breaking. Will hope for better with the upcoming Iron Man... I'm going to stay optimistic!

Got some responses from SS. Surprised that they were fairly quickly to respond. They let me cancel my Boba Fett based on the disappointment of this statue and waiting to see final products. Got my NRD back as well. Were nice enough to give me a gift code too. they didn't address the production issue unfortunately (as need to find someone from their), but at least gave a half decent answer.

'Thanks for your e-mail. Prior to becoming the customer service manager I was the in charge of the returns department. Every day when we receive inquiries we keep track of the damages, defects and report our concerns to the production team. To this day my returns team is doing the same thing which in some cases has certainly helped us make some improvements. Granted there are some cases where we have unfortunately missed the mark, when this happens we take special note to further investigate what possibly went wrong. Many of us are collectors ourselves, I personally have been collecting for 10 years now and have close to a 100 pieces most of which I acquired way before I started working here.

What I can tell you is that all of us here are passionate about what we make and we want to continue to improve. This is why I do take this feedback quite seriously and want to do what I can to respond to it when I have the opportunity to do so. Now, I unfortunately cannot comment too much on your concerns from the production side of things because I do not have much involvement with the factories and the actual manufacturing processes. However, from the customer service side of it I can say that we do whatever possible to help our customers when something goes wrong. If we can make the item whole by sending out replacement parts or exchanging the full piece we will. In some cases we are unable to send out parts so we offer credits and if that is not acceptable a refund is always on the table.

Again, I am terribly sorry that your faith in us has wavered recently. However, if you decide in the future to give us a chance I wanted to provide you a gift-code which you can use in the future.'

Just need to hunt down someone from production.

Hahahaha, until they get their qc right. All those just sounds like lalalalala

Should have some pics later this week of my custom forearm missile. Through personal taste, i had a slight change of mind in the design and instead wanted it to look more like the forearm rocket used for the Iron Man MKIII suit as opposed to the movie accurate Iron Patriot forearm machine gun used in Iron Man 3.

I've seen the final pre painted sculpt and it does look pretty cool so cant wait to get it attached to the arm for some pics before it's sent off again to get painted :)

Yep, pretty much.

Sideshow will have to overhaul their quality control process at their factories or they'll continue to deal with mass releases plagued with QC issues and a reputation that's getting beat up worse than Pacquiao did Saturday night.

Looking forward to seeing your custom Andy.

Still, it's laughable that Sideshow refused to address this since it was brought up by collectors the very first day this statue was previewed in 2013. Smh....

Thanks Eric :) Yea, i agree that its still a mystery as to why Sideshow still haven't explained how so many of these IP Maquettes (the really bad ones inparticular) were allowed to pass through QC :dunno I think what we're seeing more of, especially with Sideshow, is that a lot more collectors are resisting the pre order stage and deciding once the inhand pics are in...which in this day and age where the statue prices are now reaching highs of upto $500 for a PF or $1000 for a lifesize bust, it makes total sense to bide your time and wait it out

Hey Satosh, whilst there are a few areas on my IP that could use a little touching up, it doesn't really warrant a full repaint if i'm being honest. I was lucky to have recieved one of the not so bad ones and have already ben offered a fairly reasonable credit due to a few wonky lines here and there lol i'm actually digging this piece quite alot as i love the pose and especially the light feature.

Really is laughable, you pay all that money for a statue and then you have to finish it for them and make it the way it should have been done to start with.

If its something you find funny then i'm happy for you that you feel that way. Customising statues is something i'm very passionate about. I like to make them look a certain way to make them more personalized and closer to how i see them in my imagination. I've customised pieces that some would consider grails and that dont even require customising such as the Hulk PF, Silver Surfer, Captain America PF (original and new versions), Wolverine LSF, Thing PF, Deadpool PF, Iron Man MKVII Lifesize Bust, Batman PF, Superman PF, R2D2/C3PO PF, Doom PF, Spiderman Comiquette, Iron Man MKIII LSF, etc...the list goes on....yet its something personal to me and something i love to do...

All these projects can be seen on my Instagram account which is a click away on the Instagram icon shown below my username ;) But for you, here are a few examples of some pieces in my collection that i've had customised :)

Lucky for me i have some great friends in this hobby of ours that are some of the best and most talented sculptors and repainters in the business and its thanks to them that i have some unique pieces in my collection and pieces that mean alot more to me now than they ever did before.

P.S. Sorry to hear about the damage on your Prime 1 Optimus Prime statue - glad you could glue those pieces back together :hi5: not something you'd think you'd have to do when paying nearly GBP2K :( worse still, the damage on your Prime 1 Megatron base has got to be a kick in the nuts too :(...a crack like that can only get worse in the long run and is gutting to find it after owning the piece since last year not to mention the amount of money that darn statue costs! :( I'm sure Prime 1 will come good for you....but i'd imagine that even if they do find a replacement base that the shipping from Japan to UK wont be cheap :( I really hope you sort those issues out buddy :)

I think you missed the point Andy. He's saying you shouldn't have to get a rocket on the arm because it should have been there in the first place. They placed him in the pose that needs a rocket or it just looks odd. It should be there and you shouldn't need to order one yourself. He doesn't mean getting things to your own taste is laughable :)

Did it need a rocket? Some would argue that issue also. Sideshow certainly didnt think so and i guess its all about how you interpret the pose.

So what is he doing then? That's the rocket pose or maybe he really is practicing his karate as some on FB said. :lol

If SS was going for this then they still missed the little silver bit. It's lazy no matter how you look at it.

So to all the people apart from Andy that bought this do you think it should have had a rocket or the section that is on my picture above, when using this pose?

agree to disagree then. Same can be said about buying a statue and then having it repainted in a different style...some would say that's just as crazy but surely that's surely down to personal preference? If some say its laughable then that's their opinion...i could say the same about paying $2.5K for a Statue and then be required to glue broken pieces of it back together again :dunno swings and roundabouts my friend...swings and roundabouts
