let me rephrase This is the IM 3 thread, about marvel and the film not about twilight. all im saying is if you didnt like the film thats cool, we need differing opinions to keep this forum interesting, BUT people repeatedly saying "i hated the film" gets boring after awhile, the same as if everyone said that they had loved the film. since those people dont even say why they didn't like it just giving one sentence, which comes off as *****ing to me. in which i say marvel is laughing to the bank whether you liked it or not. i'm not trying to intentionally trying to cause trouble but at the end of the day marvel made a huge blockbuster film and they achieved their purpose. i see many people going on and on about how it sucked, and just move on and deal with it.

i really like everyone this forum but sometimes we will have differing opinions and these fights will need to be had

Well since I was "*****ing" in your words,I guess I will elaborate a little more on why I left disappointed after watching IM3.

1. Mandarin/Kingsley twist. I literally threw up my hands like WTF is this? Much rather of had him as he was before the twist. Ive never seen Kingsley act like such a dope,it feel wrong somehow. And while Killian did a good job,he just didnt feel like the Mandarin to me. Seemed like just another no name super power guy. Most of that was because there were a dozen other people in the movie who could do the same thing.

2. Ties in with #1. The movie was supposed to have this dark and sad vibe. Why the hell do you throw goofy Kingsley right in the mix? Killi(an) the vibe for me Shane Black damn.

3. Ties in with #2. Needed a different director. I thought the Shane Black's work sucked. He didnt belong in this movie IMO. Like I said in #2,if you want this movie to be sad, dark,or whatever, dont go throwing in stupid scenes that are supposed to be funny. Also lose the unfunny one-liners.

4. Why Tony gotta be an ******* to the little kid? They shouldn't of even had the kid in there anyway.

5. Stan Lee cameo was weakest out of the movies

6. Why didnt lucky or pepper die? That would of really made me more emotionally connected somehow. But nope everyones okay again! *smile

7. Pepper pots is now the human torch.

8. Mark 42 suit assemble gimmick was waaaaaaay overused.

9. Don Cheadle's face lol. Naw, his performance in IM2 was better.

10. WHERE IN THE HELL WERE ALL THE SUITS! What no glance of the suits powering on an taking off from the underground lab? I couldnt tell **** from **** with everything flying around IN THE DARK! Spent all that money designing the suits but cant even show em off? Sigh just retarded if you ask me.

11. How in the hell did he build 35 suits in the span of less than a year?

12. Panic attacks throughout the movie? Lol ****.

13. Did he just blow up all his ****ing suits!? WTF I hardly even saw them! Dammit smh.

14. The after credits scene. Wasnt funny too me. I wanted to be sad. Sad that Tony blew up all his **** for a woman. Sad that it seemed like he was done being Ironman. Sad that ben kingsley got cast as a idiot character.

15. The first song of the movie. Once I heard it I knew I was ****ed.

16. The begining scene reminded me ALOT of the Edward Inigma scene from Batman Forever for some reason. Geeky long-haired smart scientist turned into suave or sophisticated bad guy down the road. Barf.

17. The Mandarin. Umm where were his rings? That was a huge part of his character. Would of been way more interesting than what we got. Mandarin without rings really felt like a kick in the nuts and an F U to longtime fans.

18. Pepper saves the day? Wat the ****. Did stark do anything heroic? Imo he was outshined by pepper and the MK42 suit.

I could think of more but Ill spare everybody the details. Also even with all this I really enjoyed the last battle scene. Could of been executed better but it was entertaining.:)

I shudder to think what they are going to charge for Igor. It's a cool suit, and I'd like one, but wow...I just don't know...

The film was never meant to be dark or sad. Check out some of the interviews done before the film was released with them saying it was their most comedic film yet.

I'm a long time fan. I loved the twist and the adaptation of the character so don't say things like that when it's only your opinion.

I wish you could've enjoyed it more, I think really you need to understand things aren't going to be page for page adaptations there will be changes and you've got to go with the flow or you might as well just not bother if you're gonna be disappointed.

12. Panic attacks throughout the movie? Lol ****.

Well imo it's nice that they showed the emotionally fallout from events in the Avengers.

I wanted to be sad. Sad that Tony blew up all his **** for a woman.

Yeah because his 'hobby' has to come before emotional relationships eh?

15. The first song of the movie. Once I heard it I knew I was ****ed.

Were as I loved it. Thought it summed up Tony's lifestyle well at that point.

Well if that was their intention then I feel they executed it poorly. In fact one of my biggest gripes is by the end of the film I didnt know what to feel. They emotionally pulled me in every direction and I left too jumbled up.

Okay I suppose I could have put "some" in there somewhere. Am I wrong to think there are many others who share my opinion of this?

Of course I know things will never be page for page adaptations. Most Marvel movies arent and I enjoyed most all of them. One thing I will not settle for is that go with the flow crap. If I think a movie sucked then so be it. Im not just gonna sit here and be happy with everything they put out if I dont care for everything they put out. I was disappointed with this film oh well, on to the next one. And I may or may not like it.

It all comes down to personal taste and I didn't like the flavor.

Since when was being Ironman a hobby anyways? I didnt care for that aspect really.

As for the song eh to each his/her own.

Agreed, the tone in the trailers was vastly different to the tone of the actual movie.

4. Why Tony gotta be an ******* to the little kid? They shouldn't of even had the kid in there anyway.

It was kindof a street-smart 'he can take it' thing only time it bugged me was when he called the kid a pu$$y

5. Stan Lee cameo was weakest out of the movies.

Weakest cameo out of all Marvel movies imo. ASM was the best.

:exactly:

Reminded me of Transformers, lots going on very fast but hard to focus on anything.

14. The after credits scene. Wasnt funny too me.

Me neither, it was pointless fanservice for the bromance lovers.

16. The begining scene reminded me ALOT of the Edward Inigma scene from Batman Forever for some reason. Geeky long-haired smart scientist turned into suave or sophisticated bad guy down the road. Barf.

:goodpost: :exactly:

Geeky nerd who adores the protagonist, gets fobbed off by him then builds his own company, looks all swanky and handsome and tries to out-do his former idol.

Not just that but both destroy the hero's suits and kidnap his girlfriend.

Killian is almost a copy beat for beat of Nygma in motivation.

Either way IM3 was pretty good overall, just a dissapointing waste of so much potential

ASM was the best of the the Stan Lee cameos, is what i meant.

ASM was the best? sir, no spiderman 2 was wayyy better than ASM.

I wouldn't say wayyyyy better, but yes SM2 remains the best Spider-Man movie.

And on my ranking list as the best Marvel movie :wink1:

I find Spider-Man 2 unwatchable now.

How come?

I couldn't tell you. I just don't like it. Loved it when it came out… now I just can't stand watching it. Tried about a year back. I'm the same way with the first two X-Men movies. Used to really like them, can't stand 'em now.

Avengers = $1.5B
IM3 = $1B+

And that's only ticket sales, I would LOVE to know how much $ they made with merchandise.

Disney paid $4B to buy Marvel.

I'd say that was a steal.
