Got my LSF last Friday from popcultcha in Australia. I was worried seeing the issues that have arisen on here with other peoples, but after going over mine there is barely a thing wrong with it, a few tiny paint bubble specs are all I have found. Im stoked with the piece.

Looking great, congrats!!!!
Here's hoping sideshow involve this in Black Friday!!

Agree with almost all of this post.
Was fully prepared to return mine before unboxing after seeing some of the problems. I was particularly worried about the paint color.

I was impressed as hell when I opened it up but mine came with a small problem, crooked right rib plate. Asked for a replacement and waited. If SS didn't come through, I would return it.

As I waited for the replacement piece, I realized this piece is GROWING on me.

Got the replacement part (eventually) and I'm very happy with it.

There are still a few issues... I actually just found a few tiny (1 mm) paint blemishes on the hip just today while writing this post. It's probably not the only blemish on the statue, I didn't go over it with a magnifying glass and it's a BIG piece. The biggest issue is the burgundy. I watched the Avengers again and in some scenes, the armor seems to match to statue quite well, in other scenes (bright light) the armor in the movie looks a little more red.

But... the sheer presence of this statue is undeniable. The shiny paint finish is incredible. I received the Mark VII 1:1 bust at the same time and returned it because it looked like a big DULL lump.

Anyway, put me in the category of quietly satisfied. I feel the same way I did when I got my first 1/4 scale statues. It makes every smaller scale statue seem less impressive.

Hi Newbie here, and I only joined as I was searching to see if anyone else has had issues with the Mark VII Half Scale. I got mine about three months ago but the room I was going to display it in was not finished so I only opened it to measure the base. I have the Mark III and I built an arc reactor base that lights up and wanted to see if I build an identical one or would need to increase the diameter.

So I un-packaged the base, and to my surprise the base is actually slightly smaller. So far so good as I can now have identical bases. I had no intention of putting the Mark VII together as it'll take me a week or so to find the time to make all of the components. Anyhow I have all of the pieces in front of me, and I'm like a kid at Christmas and decide ****** it, I'll put it together and store it in another room and it'll give me an incentive to expedite the arc reactor base.

So I try to mount the legs to the maquette's base and the square metal peg in the left leg is really snug won't allow the foot to seat all the way down. I carefully try to remove the legs from the base and the peg is really gripping the base but after applying a little more upward pressure I get the legs detached.

Okay, Try # 2. I Start the process all over and achieve the same result: A 1/4" short of "The Eagle has Landed". Okay here's where it all goes south! I try to remove the "unseated" legs and they are really stuck but are pretty unstable, so it's pointless proceeding with the rest of the assembly process. Once again I try carefully pulling up and I hear, "Chink" or whatever noise polystone makes when a chunk of it jettisons from the mother ship. I look down and the legs are free from the base, the square peg is logged in the base and the heel of the left foot is pretending that it is a component of Mark 42. Now I'm mortified, pissed, disheartened, depressed or all of the aformentioned!! $2300.00 with Shipping and it's wrecked. I could epoxy the piece, but when I put the two pieces together the Peg is not going to go into the foot. Speaking of the peg, I needed vice grips to help ease it out of the base. Not that I'm going to sell this maquette in the future, but if I did it's value is considerably diminished.

I tried to call Sideshow as they are only thirty minutes from me, but it seems like they are gone until Monday because of the Thanksgiving holiday. I was not aware of the 30 day replacement/return policy until I went to the site to get the phone # for the help desk. With the considerable amount of money that I have spent buying directly from SS in the past 2-3 years (Not counting all the stuff from Comics Infinity and other dealers) I'm hoping they make good on this.

BTW If you bought this as a gift for someone ahead of Christmas, Birthday or whatever, who the heck is going to open that gift and put it together to make sure that it is not defective? Does anyone have experience testing the 30 day replacement/return policy?

Oh! Right after the Disaster with the Mark VII Half Scale I thought I had better open and check the 1/1 Mark VII bust that I received about a month or so ago. Fortunately it seems fine but the arc reactor sculpting is not perfectly circular, but I can live with that. Overall it's sort of meh and I waited 2 years 2 months from me placing my order with Comics Infinity for it to show up. I wish I had waited, as the Mark 42 looks a lot nicer but c'est la vie.

Can someone tell me how to attach a picture from my computer? I tried but it's not attaching. I was going to post some pictures of the Mark III on the arc reactor base that I built for it.

This is prior to the room being painted!

I have a framed and matted Iron Man poster on the way from greatbigcanvas.com that I'll hang directly behind the Mark III. If Sideshow Fix/Replace the Mark VII it'll go at the opposite end of that hope chest. Gonna move Robocop and Man of Steel and replace them with the Iron Patriot and Mark 42 1/4 Scale when they arrive.

Damn! That's a shocker.
Always inspect once received, I think the Q.C sticker says as much.
You have to do the Q.C check yourself nowadays as the factories seem incapable.

Contact them but I think you'll be very lucky to get any help after three months.
Good luck.

Edit: Beautiful base there :D

I need to build another cabinet for all of the Hot Toys Iron Man 1/6 scale figures. The house party protocol was insane. Every time I turned around they'd issued another armor. I hope Avengers 2 doesn't have too many armors beyond the Hulkbuster and the Mark 42 redux (Mark 43?) with the different paint scheme.

Thanks. I'll contact them when they finally open and try to reason with them. Lest anyone thinks I'm a rank amatuer that broke it being a bull in a china shop, I have almost thirty years of experience in set construction/prop making for a major studio in Hollywood so I approach such stuff in a very methodical thoughtful manner.

It clearly had never been test fitted prior to being painted, and note to SS: How about a 'round peg' that wouldn't place undue forces on four points of contact with the delicate polystone?!

Picture of my riser after initial construction. I made a new aluminum trim ring to add slots backed with blue gel a couple of weeks later.

That's an excellent base, well done!

Thanks very much. I thought about designing a different one for the Mark VII, but now I know it will fit on an identical base I like the symmetry of book ending them either side of my hope chest. Hopefully SS will replace the broken piece on the Mark VII, otherwise I'll have to repair it with epoxy and grind down the metal peg to make it slip into the foot and the base without breaking again. The repair would be close to invisible (fortunately no external chipping) but I will know it's there and it will piss me off every time I think about it and no matter how good the repair is it's a potential weak spot.

I've probably spent close to $10,000 Directly with Sideshow just in the last two years, and thousands more prior to that. My Mark VII 1/1 Bust and the half Scale Mark III came from Comics Infinity and a bunch of other stuff from Amazon/Ebay/dealers but SS get a chunk of that as well. I'm hopeful as I have spent so much money with them they'll make good on it.

Thank you. I looked at your stuff, and I bow down before your greatness lol! I've been debating whether to add aluminum Mark III or Stark industries logos to the front of the risers, but knowing me I'll probably want to back light them and I already have enough crap to do with my house and day job!

:lol :) thank you for the kind words my friend but from where I'm standing it's you that has the great display!! :clap :clap I think Stark Industries logo would work really well rather than MKIII in my opinion...but better still, I think less is better and the way you have it now would please me just as much :)

Btw, you'll definately like what I've got in store for my MKVIi LSF...it's been a long time coming but very soon I'll be having some pics up of my 1/2 scale Hall of Armour display :)

I hope yours doesn't break like mine did!

I hope yours doesn't break like mine did!

I hope so too :) my display is currently being built in Miami and so it needs to get to me here in London with hopefully not a scratch plus my display will feature a crazy light up feature which is also a massive risk to consider when shipping internationally :(
