Is another classic Predator figure from Hot Toys coming?

Rambo, The Terminator (T1-T800) and RoboCop are just a few examples to the contrary. While that may be the case with over saturated licenses like Batman and IM, it's not gonna happen with the smaller licenses.

I remember when the Rambo III and M-65 figures came out, I could find the original FB figure for less than retail, since more people were jumping on the newer, better versions. Same with the original Mark III figure. And all of the redone Batman figures. If an updated version of the same character is released, it doesn't matter of what, the earlier figure will temporarily drop in price. It's a fact of life.

Reeeeeeeeeally now? Gonna call BS. I don't ever remember seeing the original figure for even close to retail when those came out. When Rambo III was released, the Rambo II figure was fetching $200. Again, IM and Batman, I already agreed. But that's due mainly to oversaturation. Though, the MKI hasn't gone down less than retail since it's release.

thats exactly what i hope to happen. btw, I dont get why some people think there may not be a Classic Predator release from Predators. The classic Predator is one of the most popular figures and HT doesnt get any money from the secondary market. A Predators Classic is the best excuse to sell more figures.

You could argue the same about a T-800 Endo, yet that hasn't been re-released. Given how close the Classic was to P1, unless it's a battle damaged version, it's not gonna happen.

I do remember the Rambo II figure going for well under 200 a few years ago, but I was talking about the original First Blood figure with tank top. I distinctly remember, because I had the option of either the M-65, or tank top version for roughly the same price, and I went with the original because it was more iconic. I was shocked to see the same figure go for over 400 on ebay recently.

That's my point. Anyway, again, I don't think we'll see a Classic unless it's essentially a Battle Damaged P1 and I think that'll have little effect on the current price of the P1.

Yeah, but it's been a few years with no recent remake. At the time of the RIII and M-65, the prices dropped. I bet if a DX FB Rambo was anounced tomorrow, the older ones would be easily found for under 200.

I hear ya, though after seeing what HT's doing with Indy, I dunno about that theory with a FB DX. They might actually go up! :lol

Did the BD P2 have any effect on the price of the regular?

Given that rumour ages ago about Rambo and Rocky, plus that poll on their site, we'll be seeing new Stallone in some form this year.

the 25th anniversary of Predator is on 2012...an excellent moment to release a DX version of this figure.

:cuckoo: Given he doesn't have an extra outfit, the MMS already came with a dio stand, he wears his mask 90% of the time and when he doesn't, his eyes are just little beedy-lookin' specs in his head... why do we need a $100 mark-up for a Pred with PERS?! :lol

maybe when a Predator movie makes a $billion in the boxoffice and/or has MJ or Bruce in it. personally, i'm not holding my breath.

A DX Predator to correct the height and sucker people out of another two-fiddy.

You read my mind. Posted the below in the Pred Pic thread...

I feel pretty confident that one day HT will make another Pred 1, a proper P1. It's likely to be their first DX "monster" with PERS!

Be pretty cool, right?

improved headsculpt, movable mandibles, battle damage, improved mask design, paint, new body, unskinned victims as accesory.

The movable mandibles is silly. Removable has proven to be best anyway. And the rest can be covered under a standard "battle-damaged" MMS release.

From what we've seen, all a DX adds is a different stand, a pretty box, PERS and a hell of a mark-up.

And some cardboard backgrounds.

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing a Pred 1 done at proper height. Not sure I'd pay $250 for it but still.

Maybe, if it had a light up gauntlet as well as laser sight.

Then again, after seeing Indy, DX does not mean improved.

The most they will do is the classic Predator from Predators with some battle damage and maybe a new body.
