Wow, how exciting to see it all together! The shoulder joints are pretty nicely hidden.

The one thing I'd say (perhaps the day of the dead theme...:lol) is the hands look a bit skeletal due to the joints. Did you say you had no-artculation hands also, or are they all like that?

Just like with the elbows, it's totally mind-blowing what you did (have no idea how you did that,) and it's pretty much professional SSC-level in execution, but it feels a bit too visible to me. Maybe because the hands are dark green rather than the brighter yellow of the elbow area, the joints will be hidden more and it'll be okay for that reason.

If it's articulated hands only, it's okay - I may just set them up in the exact fingers pose I want then fill in the joints - which is actually a kind of cool feature in and of itself.

Are you selling this as a fully painted figure as well as the raw resin kit, or is it just the kit?

As I've said, this really has to be up there in the top five of the best custom SW figures ever made. Just crazy good.:clap

Thanks for the feedback man! Makes me feel good!

In regards to the hands, I had no choice but to make them the way they are. It’s possible I could do more R&D to get them to look less skeletal but honestly the hands themselves have already been some of the most work. I’d be getting way into the time and materials territory where it gets way too expensive if I keep trying to tweak it. The first hands I did were all one piece and sculpted. But it was impossible to get it out of the mold without breaking the fingers off and destroying the cast. So that’s why I sectioned it off individually with the current result. I rather like the articulation, it’s fun.
I’ll be selling both a fully painted figure and the unpainted kit. The kit would just be all the pieces unbuilt, so if you did want to modify the hands yourself and put it together, you’d have that option. It would require a Dremel or similar tool but you’d be able to customize it as needed.

Okay, cool - I may just keep one knuckle joint and fill the rest.

But yeah - you really brought this one home. I wouldn't have thought a custom Amana could turn out this good.

Awesome- Stryker I put you on the list, thank you!

Tali, with the kit you'll be able to customize it any way you want! And thank you so much!

Painting update!- About 95% done with the painting, then have to adjust a few minor things on the joints and then this big boy will be put together! 0-40.jpeg0-41.jpeg

Holy S&$T! That’s amazing! So cool.

I'd just add a few expletives to that.:lol

Unbelievable.:clap

And as I suspected, the darker paint does hide those finger joints pretty well. And I'm amazed how the paint has brought out even more sculpt detail that wasn't visible in the white - like the tiny wrinkles under the mouth. Just superb.:horror

Is the shoulder joint painted or colored yellow? Will the paint come off if it's just paint? I seem to recall galaticboy said that you can use RIT dye on some plastic joints (I think he was focused on getting wrist peg joints from white to black) and it will permanently color them. Not sure what kind of plastic the 3D printed joints you have would be, but might be worth a try.,

That's absolutely incredible, Cagoda!! Amazingly well done! :bow

If you still have a spot available on your list, I'd appreciate it a great deal if you could send me a price quote for an unpainted Amanaman kit.

You knocked it out of the park and into another zipcode. Congrats, man!! :clap

BTW now that SSC is done with SW and we probably won’t ever (?) get an updated Bib Fortuna. Maybe we should have a new robe made for the old one?
(I assume this is now the thread for this kind of talk... otherwise let me know or ignore)

Yeah, I'm definitely going to need to make a new robe. I was taking pics of my Ree-Yees figure to compare to screenshots from ROTJ, and that's when it hit me how much the SSC Bib robe needs replacing. Here's a photo comparison example of what I mean. The robe is just way too clunky.

The problem with making multiple robes is that the stock SSC Bib body is very undersized. And the robe would obviously need to be tailored to the height of a figure that has had the body replaced.

Yes, I think it should be made for a body that is the right size for Bib. No one who would buy a new robe would keep the old body anyways.
