This is only a dream, but how much woudl this line get pumped up if they dropped Zartan and his swamp skier on us?

I see hot toys is releasing a true type female body....does this mean scarlet and baroness soon? or must we wait 5 years before Sideshow produces their own female body

I think that's all just speculation at this point...

Well, there are female Hot Toys bodies out there, and unless I am mistaken, female Joes have been announced as being released at some point. What is the speculation in regard to?

Scarkett and the Baroness are in the pipeline it was mentioned in a Q&A.

As much as I don't like to say this though, :lol, Teemu does have a point. Vader and the Stormtroopers were in the pipeline for how long before we finally got them? Though if Scarlett and the Baroness turn out on par with what we're seeing with the dudes, it'll be well worth the wait.

Their willingness to crank out figures on these insanely loose Pro bodies suggests to me that they aren't exactly waiting for perfection before releasing new bodies. Why not release the females with whatever they have right now, and keep trying to improve the bodies as time goes on, similar to what they are supposedly doing with the Prometheus?

If people aren't happy, they can upgrade as they are doing with the male bodies. I just hope that none of the holdup has to do with attempts at rooted hair. If I want Barbies, I'll buy from Mattel.

Whether or not they'll be released "soon".

Sure, we'll get them at some point.

Just for kicks, I went through YoJoe.com to see which characters I’d like to made by Sideshow. I’m an old school G.I. Joe fan; I read the Real American Hero comic faithfully from issue #1 up to issue #122. While the cartoon was a fun diversion after coming home from school, the original RAH comic series was and will always be canon to me (sorry, Spirit is not Storm Shadow’s nemesis or even equal in combat).

Although I consider myself an old school fan, I don’t consider myself a traditionalist. I don’t mind the updates/modernization that Sideshow is giving to these characters. I liked the gear load out that Sideshow gave Snake Eyes. I know some feel that he had more gear than his RAH incarnation did and stripped him of some of his gear, but I think he is perfect (minus the scrawny body given to him, of course). I see him as having been dropped behind enemy lines to complete a sensitive mission, and he was given both silent weapons to do his job effectively but also given enough ordinance to fight his way out to the extraction point should the proverbial ^^^^^ hit the fan.

The following characters are my favorites from 1983 to 1990 (when I stopped collecting/buying G.I. Joe figures). As with most fans, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are my two favorite characters.

1983
Snow Job. Hopefully that little file card tease in Volume 11 of the Sideshow Catalog comes true and we get this cold weather specialist.

Torpedo. Maybe Sideshow can give him a SAW as he was seen with on the great Michael Golden cover of G.I. Joe Yearbook #2.

Airborne: Spirit may have gotten more pub, but Airborne was the first Native American Joe.

1984
Ripcord. Had the audacity to invade Cobra Island by himself, and held his own against Zartan in unfamiliar enemy territory until Zartan used his cloaking/chameleon abilities.

Mutt and Junkyard. Since Timber wasn’t released with Snakes, I doubt Sideshow would do a Mutt and Junkyard two-fer. Perhaps Junkyard could be released with a Check Point Alpha environment?

Roadblock. Need the heavy machine gunner.

EELS. Would be a perfect foil to Torpedo.

Snow Serpent. Need some Cobra Forces to go against Snow Job in the cold.

1986
Beachhead. According to Sideshow, already in the works, and I can’t want to see this Ranger in all his Sideshow badda$$ness.

Lowlight. Updated with a Barret .50 cal would be cool.

Hawk. You got to have the man in charge calling the shots.

Cobra Viper. While not very realistic/military-looking, I actually prefer the Viper design to the Trooper design. With the mirrored face shield, they look like clones of Cobra Commander.

(1986 was one of the best years for figures, IMO. Leatherneck deserves honorable mention)

1987
Outback. Already been discussed a few posts back. While I prefer to have figures in military gear and not t-shirts/jerseys (sorry, no Bazooka), Outback’s awesomeness wins out.

Tunnel Rat. Just a cool character design, IMO. Bad card art, though. The figure looked cooler.

1988
Repeater. One of the best card arts ever released for the Joes. I know he was a Ranger, but for some reason he looks like some grizzled gunny sergeant to me. Roadblock is a must to made as the machine gunner, and out of nostalgia, Rock N’ Roll should also get the nod before Repeater, but I still like his design.

Shockwave. Not sure why the Joe team would need a SWAT guy, but I thought the character design was really cool. Sideshow said that there were no plans to develop him, but he still looks cool.

Stalker. Need the original Ranger in the Joe outfit. However, I know I’m in the old school RAH minority when I say I prefer him in his tundra gear.

Alley Viper: Kind of cartoony looking in their orange and blue camo, but I like that they are urban warfare shock troopers. Plus , they have cool riot shields.

Night-Viper. Ummm, I remember this figure being cooler than it looks on the file card…not liking the green right now. But Cobra has to have their specialized forces, so a night operations specialist would be awesome.

There's a lot of cool figures, but these are the ones I'd like to see Sideshow make.

I apologize for the long posts and pics, I was just getting nostalgic over G.I. Joe . :lol

Few exceptions, but for the most part yea. Even 92 had some kewl figures like Headhunters. But they won't go that deep. Prolly see nothing after 88ish.

A little more fuel to the fire. Although I'd gladly take any of the ones you mentioned Dino, especially Snow Serpent, Eel, Ripcord, Viper.... Yeah all of them.:D
