I think that's Cumberbatchs character on the inside of the glass, the color of the shirt matches the same color that hes wearing when hes sitting in the captains chair.

Ha! And if thats the case have they already given away his death scene? In a reversal of Wrath of Khan it looks like Spock is the healthy one, the way he appears to be standing. It would also point to this being a kind of sympathetic villain that Spock would make this gesture for him.

Or it happens early on before he becomes the villain. He says he has "returned" to have his vengeance. He must have returned from somewhere. Unless they're doing another villain from the alternate timeline.

Not necessarily. That black shirt is a standard for all starfleet officers. Its the shirt they wear under the red/blue/gold. Its the same shirt Kirk wore in the last movie. Could be almost anybody.

You may be right about this since we do see a Federation starship crashing into San Francisco Bay near Starfleet Academy which looks more futuristic then current ships in the timeline.

That would be way too similar to the last film.

Here's what producer Bryan Burk had to say about Into Darkness:
There are amazing villains throughout the Star Trek universe, as well as new villains as we did in the last film. There are a lot of directions we can go in the film and in this particular case we chose to do something that would be original and unique and different and again on paper I think we made the right choice.
:dunno

The new villian may be the half brother(fully human) of Spock, just a guess...no matter how the story unfolds, i'm sure this movie is going to be a good one, better then the first.

Sybok Holmes

Yes, Sybok was pure Vulcan though, maybe this time its changed around and Amanda Grayson instead maybe had a fully human child prior to developing a relationship with Sarek and having Spock.

Could be an original creation of Dr. Soong...... a new Augment????

Would be powerful enough to throw Kirk around like that, even be able to jump further... but what bother's me is that who ever can push the Enterprise under the ocean can also raise it too and the only person with that kind of power we've seen is Gary Mitchell.

May be what happened to Mitchell happens to Cumberbatch's character and its more or less a nod to that episode without being a remake.

Supposedly the full trailer shows this to be true.

Another character which could be the main villain in this..

Hey! I posted that a few days ago. Maybe it's plausible.

They confirmed that Cumberbatch is playing an established/canon character. Mitchell seems like the most likely candidate, but they already killed the character off in a comic set during the new JJ timeline.
