Not really, Scotty remarks that in trying to prove his theory that you can teleport while in Warp as well as from one planet to another planet without an inbetween he teleported the Admiral's dog. When it never came back he was "banished" to the outpost as a punishment but they forgot he was there. In fact, since Spock Prime showed him the original equation and Scotty never came up with it on his own that will ripple the effect as well.

This was more of a nod to Star Terk IV when Scotty gave the guy the formula to transperant aluminium then said, "how do we know the guy didn't invent it in the first place". Also I love that it was Archer's dog that he used as a test subject.

:lol....obviously you don't know me.....and post humor about displaying information already embedded by using a timely reference of the material we are indeed talking about seems to be escaping you as well.

Okay, never seen Star Trek V but Archer was the name of the main character from Enterprise the TV Show right?

Capt.Archer of the NX-01 Enterprise later becomes Admiral in this new movie i assume?.

You never see him actually just mentioned in passing but he is an Admiral.

Anyone see in the credits that Sala Baker is listed as a Stunt Man on this film? Good ol' Sauron was in this. Its not on the IMDB but confirmed on Trek fansites....was he a Romulan?

Outstanding. I'm an ardent Trek fan from back when I was six and watching the first run shows. They nailed this. I am SO glad to see Trek returned to a vibrant and viable property after foundering in the doldrums since First Contact.

The characterizations were pitch perfect, capturing the essence of the parts without them becoming a slavish copy of the original portrayals.

Saw it at an Imax...WELL worth the couple extra bucks if you can get to one...

I might see this Sunday then, i was originally going to wait out the horde of fools that like to ruin the movie for me on any opening weekend for a movie, i generally wait a week or two but, i am sure it might be still packed even after a few weeks..i have a feeling this movie is going to rip some tits at the box office eventually. :p

Agreed! This what Star Trek should be IMO. I almost cried at the beginning, was excited all the way through, and even laughed several times. This movie had everything! Very rare with todays piles of crap being churned out. This easily dominates Indy, Ironman, and dare I say even The Dark Knight. This movie was well, just better. :google

Archer was the Capt. of Star Trek Enterprise TV series (Scott Bakula). The Scotty thing was from Star Trek IV (the one with the whales).

Yea, Scotty punches up the formula for transparent aluminum in exchange for him to manufacture it for the whale tank that was set up inside the BOP...I think.
