Well, when we are talking about a character whose poses are the most dynamic in comic world, Sideshow could do something different than their comiquette! Koto's Unleashed is a good example for that. The biggest plus of this statue is the ex face in my opinion. It has flaws about the color application and doesn't match with the proto but if you don't have a Spider in your collection, this is the chance:) Sideshow is a company who doesn't like to take risks in terms of poses but there is a new player in town like XM so maybe their next attempt will be more creative. Overall it is not a bad statue but nothing special at the same time...

Special to me.

Hmm, mine is shipping soon, I'm not thrilled with the paint apps, too glossy for my liking vs the proto.

Yes. Finally pics to drool over. Thanx Prox u hit on all the photos I was thinking about with the Venom Comiquette and I do have the Koto Venom and would love to post pics Bear but my last flex payment isn't till the 15th. So I'm sure fellow members will post those well b4 I get mine but if not I'll definitely post mine when I get it for comparison. I see yalls reasoning for the scale and paint app concerns but those are no concerns of mine. If I could afford it I would have all 3 Spideys worth having the 2 Comiquettes and the Koto but sadly the original is still outta my price range for now. I'll still say it anyway though the original still outdoes this new one. Just saying imo :lol

I hate to say it but this one looks the weakest of the 3. Those fingers are ridiculous and not a fan of the pose. Paint on the prototype was much better.

Still looking forward to getting it and seeing it next to MJ and Gwen. Can't wait for Black Cat as well.

Congrats on the new spider kuya jo. Pics look great!!! So, which spider do you prefer?

I actually like this display angel the best with the ex head.

Here's a comparison shot with the XM studios cap...

I think it looks great and i'm still looking forward to it getting here next week.

Right...
@Spidey, I can understand your problem with the paints especially for anyone who has the original and was hoping for a completely different style.
Not as glossy as the original but still glossy compared to the proto. The 'comic' look is probably what attracted a lot of people to this piece and of course they have every right to expect what was advertised via SDCC & the web page.

@JP, awesome pictures. Thanks for posting.

For me, personally, I think it looks fantastic. Glossier paint doesn't bother me as most of my collection is movie based and the paint will probably make it fit in better.
Size looks decent, was expecting him to look much smaller next to other pieces. Fingers still a worry.
Still had in the back of my mind to sell if he was tiny but confidrnt this will be a keeper.
Can't come soon enough!

Hello Everyone!
I'm new to the forum and I just got my Spiderman Comiquette today. Its my first piece from Sideshow! I love the piece but I feel a little disappointed because I found a lot of little things that I wasn't happy with. Its mainly the paint apps on the statue and the foot not going all the way in. The black webbing isn't laid on evenly and its pretty messy in some of the pics below. I don't know if I'm just being too picky or if its suppose to be like this. I was wondering what you guys think, and If it warrants a replacement from sideshow how do i go about it? Does it even qualify for a replacement? Thanks for in advance and sorry for the crappy pics.

Also On the Ex Head on the left side of his face(which would be right for us looking at the pic)...there is a black/gray smudge giving him a faint 5 o'clock shadow. Its super faint in the photos but I can see it in person.

Welcome to the form

If I remember correctly some members had this issue with the original Comiquette.... Try putting the feet back in an slightly different angles.... Usually there is a sweet spot and bam the statue pegs fit perfect.

Yeah it is what I thought. He stacks up very well against the true 1/4 and 1/5 stuff, but looks almost like a HT when put against the oversized 1/4 Original Com.

Joe's pictures are the best so far, not quite up to the proto but not as drastically different as the first batch.

I think either way you've got a chance of getting a stinker, those paint lines will come out a mess on a good portion of statues. No biggie for me, I'm probably going to paint mine up regardless, I'm thinking you could even get a thin tipped felt pen and really define the black lines since the guide line is already done for you.

The size next to the Venom Com is perfect, it actually looks better (not that I dislike the original, just that the difference in scale looks accurate to what I imagine it to really be like).

Yep looks AWESOME against the Venom. No scale issue at all.

Congrats on the new spider kuya jo. Pics look great!!! So, which spider do you prefer?

He stand up well against cap from a side view, can you do a head on view??

Right...

Honestly, the paint apps are my thing with this piece. The sculpt is as advertised. The scale to this point seems to really work. The Ex and Reg heads give it some personality that I like. In the end he looks very good, but the proto looked much better IMHO. I remember looking at those fine web lines and flat comic style paint on the proto and just thinking "Damn I love my Com, but those are awesome", and then seeing how close MJ and Gwen are to the prototype really excited me. Even if just the reds and blues were a match to the proto I could get behind this better and say I was dissapointed in not getting it. That isn't the case. I am really glad that it came out nice for all of you, but for people who were excited about the different style paints or who are getting the whole line, well, I feel dissapointed for them. Oh and the web lines ugggggg. Some of them are just a mess or missing, that is dissapointing.

JP your pics rock, I know are making feel better

Mine still hasn't shipped.

I think he's looking good in the pics so far. Anyone have a Hobgoblin com they can pose him next to?

Send those pics into sideshow and ask for a replacement.

Give it a wiggle about first, see if it slots in.
They may send you a replacement portrait.
To be honest it's hard to see the issues with your pictures, but I am on my phone.

Thanks for the pics freaks. He looks great. Doesn't appear he will fit in with the average PF but the pics posted of Venom work pretty good. Great alternative to chasing down the big money original. I'm looking forward to getting mine after seeing the quality and pics posted. Well done SS
