THOSE lines are going to be EXTREMELY hard to pull off. Espeically the ones near his neck

Spidey is correct here. Even the original Comi had issues with the back lines (some were really bad).

I am expecting some issues with the lines. It is pretty much a given. However it's the choise of color and type of paint that I love so much. When I talk about paint apps that is what I am refering to.

Yeah it's scary but they pulled it off on Shaak Ti so there's hope!

Speaking of Ex I know the art was shown in this thread earlier on. But I hope its the one where Spidey is half masked and both MJ and Gwen are spray painted on the base of the wall. That makes for a tru Comiquette exclusive for any Spidey fan. If I'm not mistaken I don't believe there would be anything out there like it if it becomes offical.

While they pulled it off wit Shaak Ti those lines didn't have to be NEARLY as precise as these will have to be, and there aren't NEARLY as many of them. Honestly, if these lines aren't sculpted in, which right now they do not appear to be, people should be praying that SSC departs from their tradition of "hand painted" statues and does these with some type of automation. Otherwise, take it from someone who has drawn this constume in pencil, these will be a mess. Also, as evident by the original Com, sculpting these in is NO guarantee of getting this right.

would be a cool Ex, and different bases have been done for an Ex before, the droids come to mind, BUT this would be pretty drastic. I think the lady grafitti turned into the Spiderman symbol that is there now

Well I thought the new techniques just had to do with the Matt comic finish, not the lines persay, but I hope it works

Issue with the other com as well. I don't think Bowen Spidey statues have ever had the problem.

I have seen some of the bad lines in the Original Comiquette thread, and that was on a 1/4 statue with fully sculpted lines. I am hoping that they find a way to avoid thos issues. I also agree that it is slightly odd that the Bowen statues don't seem to have the same issues. SSC could take some lessons...

Ive never even looked at the lines on my spidey. Collecting has got to be super stressful for some peeps. I saw threads where a member was upset and trying to return dented brown shippers!

Yep that was the guy. To each their own but I think your missing the main point of collecting if a dented brown shipper ruins your day...

Onto Spidey!!! I'm getting more and more excited about this piece as the days go by! I hope the rumors are true about a possible EX with a COH and a slightly different background. Man that would really separate this from the original CQ

Yeah I thought it to be slightly strange that they would consider an EX for spidey but none for Gwen and MJ. Makes sense. I can only that the rumors come true

Yeah I keep mine for transport and storage of the art box but I've bought lots of statues from fellow boardies without the brown shipper. Call me crazy but I've never found a good way to display my statues with their respective brown shipper
