Jabba 12" Image Thread

hmm.... I'll have to wait until I get him in hand to see (god knows when that'll be with me being in the UK) but he looks very.......... green... to me. Green all over with a very pale belly/front

as I remember him in the film (and in the pics we've seen on here) his face should be more orange, his back and his upper chest should be dark green with a hint of purple, and his belly should be orange too

or am i totally wrong on this

Hello MaulFan! You can make a bundle selling these in volume. How much would this cost to do?

I wouldn't charge anyone anything, if someone wants to pitch me an idea I'll hear them out and see what dimensions and type of background they'd want and if it looked like something I could work into the mix I'd work on it.

BTW, people are welcome to PM me, I don't mind, just saying cuz in the past, people have posted messages and it seemed like they were shy to send me a PM for whatever reason, so just putting it out there that I don't mind receiving them.

Aren't there stairs that go up the side of the throne? If I remember right, 3PO is at the same height or taller than Jabba at one point.

That is VERY cool of you MaulFan. I can't wait to see the first HR Jabba Background displayed with figs, it will be a stunner. I imagine you can do the HR Imagery and maybe it will have some sort of styro (paper hinged?) backing...

I honestly think HR display backgrounds could become quite a big deal with Collectors with so many lines...

Well everyone will have unique measurements based on their display areas but what I'll start with as a base concept is a scaled backdrop of Jabba's palace as it is, then use that to make variations probably. While I wait for some notification of shipping and getting my fat slug, I'll start the calculations and measurements and proportions to get it going. As for painting the image, I will be lighting it as it was in Jedi so if you have LEDs or whatever to spot Jabba and his lighting doesn't match that's gonna be your call.

I can't wait to see it! I definitely want some sort of HR background for my HT Aliens Marines and there are so many more lines I can think of too, but SW, WOW, that will be amazing for so many figs...

In case you didn't see the warning on the other thread, be careful when slicing the shipping tape on the throne shipper. There's nothing but a plastic bag protecting the product box. (Jabba has a piece of cardboard over the top of his product box.)

Okay. Jabba is quite light, and his throne is very heavy. Also big. Here's the slug himself sitting atop the throne shipping box (33" x 22" x 12"):

I only unwrapped the throne enough to confirm that it's not broken:

Displaying this will be a major home project, so I have to be able to get it back in the box. I haven't unwrapped the whole thing yet. It'll take time to do it right so I can put it back, and I wanted to post something for everyone.
