Just got the big boy... and yes, his box is huge.

You can tell how large he is if you're familiar with my kitchen counter:

At first glance, Jabba's awesome. A bit light in color as Gruff said, but hey...we finally have a Jabba.

I'm sure he'll look perfect in a dark corner since the lighting in his palace was pretty dim.

Great shots WG! He looks great. I'm getting mine from Adam so it'll be another week at least for me but I gots to say he looks superb.

Wow! That close-up shot of his face is awesome!!! Really shows off the insane detail of this piece.

Thanks guys. He is pretty darn cool. Best Jabba ever, dare I say.

Quick mini-review:

The sculpting is incredible. Every bump, crevice and nuance is there. And he's as bulbous as you remember. The anchor, the cut in the tail, all perfect. The back of his head sags grossly -- a good thing -- and the possibly weird "shoulder guards" so his arms could swivel are not that noticeable. The eyes glisten with metallic paint -- nice touch. And there some nasty detail inside the crack of his mouth.

Jabba is amazing, but not without its flaws. The paint is a bit, well, dull. Light. Not as "deep" as the film stills you see. Much of that is the lighting of course. His arms twist, but are pretty limited for posing. The right hand is pointing it seems, the left is made to hold his hookah or cup. The drool in his mouth looks a little like paint. Still, a nice touch. And the eyes, although wickedly well-done with the reflective paint, upon close inspection they do seem to lack a bit of detail and texture given their large size. But hey, every figure has its petty nits. And all these nits ARE pretty petty when you see this thing in hand.

All in all, this is a perfect 1/6th version of his mighty slimeness. He's Jabba...and he's all too cool.

Thanks for the early pics and review WG! Can't wait to get him... I have to say I'm surprised that there were no real delays with such a big release!!!

Very nice!! Those close ups are really fantastic! Amazing job done on this one. Can't wait to get mine and review it.

Yeah, I can't wait to see this either. MaulFan, you rock!!!

By the way, let me know if you need any server space to house the HR images for use here. I'd be happy to host some of your stuff for fellow SS Freaks to download.

:chew

Appreciated, but I actually have 2 websites with hefty domain space so not a problem there, but thanks again. The hardest part will be working out the measurements to keep the image somewhat scale to the piece itself.

I take that back, that's the second hardest part, the hardest is waiting for him to ship out :( Looking at the box pictures I can just hear the people at working going what'd you get now??? The bruce the shark box seems to be in the same league as the throne so if Jabba and throne come same day I'm gonna get lots of questions and awkward faces.

Wor-Gar...

Excellent photos as usual...and nice quick review.
Any chance of more views (from the side, the back, etc) for us poor saps that are waiting for that second boat (the slow one)? :lol

As always, your pics are appreciated....

great to see some pics finally. He looks great (the sculpt) and it's wonderful to finally have a Jabba that's this big and this detailed.

I guess I'll get to enjoy repainting it though. Really didn't think I'd have to with this, but hey.... more fun for me when I get him I guess :lol

Cant wait to see that one Hunky!!!!

From all of the pics I've seen (and thanks everybody for posting such amazingly cool shots, color me jealous) it looks like his little drool could use a light touch up with some clear gloss coat paint. Otherwise, I think he looks amazing, and I am sure that I will have a similar drool problem when he arrives. I'm hoping for next week!

Great pix Wor-Gar!!!! I hope mine process's this week so hopefully he shows up here next week.

How is his weight Wor-Gar. Is he pretty heavy?

I've heard surprisingly light. The throne on the other hand...

Thanks to all.

Jabba is fairly light for his size. He's hollow vinyl, but still feels pretty solid...meaning he's not squishy or anything (for those of you with the IC Jabba you know what I mean). He's probably the weight of 3 regular figures.

I have a dinner engagement tonight but I'll try and post some pictures from different angles either later tonight or tomorrow morning to cover more angles... maybe a "kitchen" surprise as well.

:)

Cool thanks Wor-Gar.

Hey Wor Gar, Did you get his throne too? Just wondering if they are shipping at the same time.

If someone has the throne and could give me an exact measurement of the slab's width, not counting the gargoyle heads like SSC did, I would appreciate it, that's the critical starting point for the backdrop image.
