Yep. Ryan Gosling would've been perfect actually. He's got the height, the hair, and just needs the weight.
This could be really good. The book was pretty good. So if they stick close to it, should work out.
But Cruise really isn't totally Reacher. He's OK...but he's so goddamn small. Reacher is a ____ing power house.
So when this trailer played before Amazing Spider-man last night, some jeered it and a bunch of people clapped in response.
I had never even heard of it until then. It looked like a childish tough guy film.

Agreed. That shot of Reacher getting ready to beat the living ____ out of those guys and Cruise is so small is just nuts. Reacher is a ____ing monster.

Cruise is gonna take a little heat because of his divorce from Katie Holmes.
Personally, I don't understand all the heat the guy gets. He's a wacko, so what. He's not Mel Gibson wacko though. If Tom is hurting anyone, it's himself. And I could careless about that.
But most people haven't read the books, so they aren't going to know that. I've never heard of Reacher till this thread.
He's not small to me. Almost everyone is bigger than me!
Anyway, you don't have to be big to be powerful and an ass kicker. He's a bantie (bantam) rooster!

Yeah, but the character kinda needs to be. It's a character thing. Not a nit pick.

Like I said that's the book character. Someone who can kick the ____ out of a group of guys at one time would be scary to me.
Anyway, they may be going with someone who is more agile and fast, rather than brute force.
Maybe Vin Diesel would fit that part?

Cruise films tall though. It's hard to believe he's only 5'7".
That was my Dad height. My brother is that height too. Since I'm 5'1" they're tall!

Just showed this preview to all the Reacher fans here at the office, we are all pretty disappointed. Not just in the choice Cruise as Reacher, but the trailer itself is just kinda lame especially the end of it. I'll admit I am a bit biased here, but this is the consensus of about 10 other people here. Still I am hoping for a fairly good Cruise movie at the least.
