Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

dude that was meant as a joke that's why i put the laughy face at the end of it. wasn't meant as an insult in any way. there's no reason for you to have gotten so upset or continue to be insulting or defensive.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I'm not at all upset about it, I just found it funny that you'd write a decent-sized paragraph against the very thing you did.

I wouldn't be willing to display that snyderman sculpt in my collection, but if anyone else wants to, knock yourselves out.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

as i said it was a joke, not an insult, and in the context of being a joke was not against what i wrote later. if it came off as an insult to you i apologize, and glad you're not upset. your previous post seemed somewhat hostile and read like you may be upset.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Man, what happened in here? Fighting over a lot of bad choices in Craig sculpts? :D Clearly there's no real winner yet because I think we'd all recognize it immediately. I'm holding out for DiD myself, even though I can clearly see where the faults are. But without a true license, not sure we'll ever get "the definitive" Craig.

Pixelpiper, I gotta say, if you're gonna dish out your honest opinion, which many times comes across as negative or snide, and with such consistency, then you're going to have to be more accepting of other's "honest" opinions here as well.

That backdrop out your window (apt? penthouse? workplace?) is PERFECT for Bond! Kudos!!!!!

I don't have a great view, so instead I went with a background I found at a plastics company.

Currently have my Legacy Connery and normal Dalton in front of it. (Not enough room in the Detolfs for all my Bonds.....damnit)

Nice effect Mrlawless :clap the plastic is great idea.good bit of imagination gets the results :clap

Speak for yourself my backside is as fresh as a daisy:rotfl

btw great idea MrLawless1 what is that plastic background design called?

May get something similar.

You're gonna laugh..... It's an aquarium background. TAP Plastics of San Jose sells them for relatively cheap ($2/foot?) from a HUGE roll, like wrapping paper. (I'm sorry, I don't know the exact product name.... not sure that they still have them, but can't imagine they don't. You could call them and ask if interested. They probably do mail orders. They're really nice people.)

They also come in red and aqua. I used the red for a while with my Cobras:

And aqua Joes:

I changed my display idea for my GI Joe line though: I hit a comic book show or two every year, and got commissions of major characters, and put those behind them.

I've thought about doing the same for my Bonds, but don't know which artists I'd approach to do them. It's not like anyone is "known" for their Bond artwork in the comics field.

My Snake-Eyes, by Larry Hama:

Firefly by Steve Leialoha (inker of issue 26 feat. Firefly):

Major Bludd by Michael Golden:

Baroness by Mark Dos Santos:

My Avengers should be a tad easier to display this way.....

Anybody have any ideas for a cool artist to draw Bond? I've thought perhaps Jim Lee or Tim Sale....

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I am using my entire action figure fund to spay a puppy we just adopted... Oh well. She's worth it. Maybe that account will replenish enough just for the BBKill head sculpt and I can bide my time with the paint job and accessories.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Mr.Lawless, I love the background (and I'm always always excited to see someone else who likes Dalton). It's really sharp without taking away from the figure. The art commissions are also pretty sweet.

Hoping the next house has room for a serious display area. My figures are all on my bureau and it looks like crap.

K07, congrats on the puppy!

Thanks man! Dalton's my favorite, but I also argue that beyond Dalton, the other actors had good AND bad outings.

If anyone really wanted, I could always see about hitting up TAP Plastics for them for this background and mailing it to them.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I finished my Bond sculpt, finally. Gonna cast him this week, I think.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Great likeness! Though I think the age lines and bags under his eyes and what not could be less prominent? amazing though!
