Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

That's a great Craig bond Datnhneil! Mine will look like that soon, only it will represent the end of Casino Royale, blue 3 piece suit, re-painted TTL head by Greggo, UMP45 from 21ST century Toys (with curved mag) and a TTL body. Will post pics when he's done.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I have a 007 display in mind for when my basement gets furnished. Just ordered the Golden Gun SE from Factory Replicas.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Also, I realize that all the new members go Hot Toys crazy when they first get into this, but they owe it to themselves to check out some of the older figures from yester-year. While they may not excel in costume accuracy or perfect movie sculpt, I think they have a lot of charm that is hard to ignore.

QFT. :lecture

I also agree with you about that Thunderball Bond; It's always been a personal favorite.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I posted these in my collection thread, but thought it might fit here too.

Well, I've been working on a few customs of late and I thought I'd post some pics.

My Bonds, right now (I have to find a way to get them all back in the display case):

09.jpg

My Daniel Craig. Nothing new, but man, I love this guy. Best custom I've ever done. Better than most figures I have. Feng is a master!

02.jpg

Brosnan, from GoldenEye. When I think of Brosnan's Bond, this is how I remember him. He's wearing Sideshow's outfit and head, on a TT Regular. The watch is a repainted Dragon - hate those Sideshow watches. I sculpted the falling hair onto the sculpt's forehead, which is how I remember the younger Brosnan. He had longer hair in GoldenEye, but I haven't decided if I'll do any more. The shirt had buttons added - they were prominently white in the movie, and a brown belt with the shirt tucked in.

04.jpg

And what ended up being a pretty big project, Dalton's Bond. My personal favorite Bond actor, since he was the most like the Bond of the books. He's shown here from the movie poster for Licence to Kill. Repainted Sideshow Walther to fit Dalton's lighter weapon, repainted Dragon watch, HT Joker belt, TTL shirt, shoes, and pants, on a HT Narrow. The hair was a big resculpt...the original was slicked back, as if he's in his tux, but I wanted it to appear as it did through most of the move. Shaved off the front of the hair, and resculpted most of it from scratch.

I'm considering moving both Brosnan and Dalton to solid sculpt necks, I'm not sure if I'll do it or not yet.

Here's my Moore...not much done here. Sideshow head and gun, TTL 2.0 body, Dragon digital watch, Sideshow Dalton Paints, shirt, and bowtie, with Connery Jacket and TTL Shoes. I figured I should have at least one of these guys in a tux.

07.jpg

My custom Connery. Keep in mind he's a lot less orange in person, but I was going for a sortof...hand-painted poster look for him. HeroHeads head, TTL body, suit, shoes, repainted Brother Production watch and the original Sideshow Connery gun.

Now I just need to get my hands on a Lazenby - if anyone wants to part with one let me know!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Awesome customs capn mate, my favourite being the Craig. I hope the custom i'm putting together will look half as good. I'm using some of the same parts, as you can see in my post at the top of the page.

Repainted TTL head, TTL Blue suit, TTL body, UMP45, sorted!

Could you possibly post more pics of the Craig? Thanks in advance if you do

Not sure why people dig that head for Craig. If you like it, I guess it's okay, but IMO the Brothers Productions second Craig head looks better.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Some great customs here-- love to see this thread alive and kicking...
Balsquat, I love how you've got your Q displayed-- I'm going to have to steal that pose. :lol

I'll admit, in pictures, I've never been too impressed by it. But in-hand, it's a perfect representation. I guess you just have to see it in 3D. Not to mention the paint job is impeccable.

EDIT: As an aside, in that second set of pics, he's missing his watch, and I switched the TTL shirt and tie for the Hot Toys DX Joker version. Looks even better now.

I've found some either hate it or love it, i'm the former. I think it's as close as any head out there so far. There are a few good ones though. I'm having mine repainted by greggo, can't wait to see it.

Got pics of the head you mentioned?

Cheers for the pics The Capn, seen them before unfortunately but it's nice to look at that awesome figure again.

Where's this suit from?... I've seen it before-- but I can't remember where. It's perfect.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Let me answer on the capn's behalf, that suit is from TTL I think

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Yup, exactly. It's one of the TTL suit sets released last year. Perfect for the character, though I do wish I had a light blue shirt and navy tie for it, like he appeared in Thunderball through most of the movie.

I was wrong, it's actually Loading Toys' Dangerous Man. Like I'm suspecting is the case with the previous figure, some shots aren't flattering here either and while neither are perfect, IMO (and I stress that for sake of argument :lol), I just think this looks better:

This one's definitely good, but it's more of a happy Craig...I guess that's why it throws me off. Craig's Bond is NOT a happy man. Except for maybe when he was getting whacked in the balls, lol.

Is there anywhere that this is still available?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I can't let one of my favourite threads dip to page 3...

Here's the Bonds reorganized--

I've got another Craig hs on the way and some clothes from Toy Anxiety that I'm going to use to make a Nassau, Bahamas Bond (straight off the plane) but if anyone knows where I can get my hands on one of those grey TTL suits please letme know-- I'd love to use that with one of my Connery Bond hs.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The loading Toys head was for sure the up and running master of Craig liknesses. Then came the Feng head and blew it so far out of the stratousphere it's not even worth a second glance anymore.

The Feng head is pure and simple a 98% accurate representation of a head that's been done a thousand times by others, many of which do not even come close. Nothing tops the Feng head... and the TTL recast is a far cry from the original. Still one of my all time faves and one of the best things i ever bought.
