Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Got my Asmus bond suit. I think it's a little too light on the color side. The fabric is very soft and easy to futz and it has a nice natural drape. The shirt isn't the right color and I think it's just one of the regular shirts they use in the other Men Hommes suit sets. Maybe even the tie also but definitely the belt/shoes which look generic.

I am using the knock off TTM's and the leg is a little shorter without the extension so it looks too long. It should be just perfect with them though.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Thanks for the suggestion on the correction to the nose! I think the profile is much improved. Meantime, I've reached the limit of my ability on this one, so he's getting molded tonight and cast sometime this week. :) Bardem was not a good choice for a first attempt at 1/6th sculpting - I should have picked someone waaaaaay easier!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The custom madness continues...

This time, Bond in his signature aquatic battledress from "Spy Who Loved Me"...

I know, I know, the head sucks. This is a rough draft, basically 1st pass, lots of tweaks and adjustments to do now that I see it in full form. But the perfection (futzing) is the fun part for me.

Gotta get a new head too....

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

That Headplay sculpt really looks nothing like Moore most of the time. On a good day in the right lighting, maybe. It's a great sculpt nicely painted -- it's just not Roger Moore (kinda like the Craigs aren't Craig).

I have to get another Sideshow Moore or maybe Ada's Moore (which looks quite nice painted up albeit young).

If anyone wants to sell their loose Sideshow Moore head please let me know.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Wouldn't an SSC head be a bit big now, my old Connery seems massive now.

Yeah, a bit, but doesn't that head in my pic look an eensy bit small? Or maybe its that the jacket is a little bit big on him and not fitted. Yet.

Hard to find a perfect sized melon for any figure. Even HT figs have smallish sculpts sometimes. But since my Bond collection is really spanning a period from 2003 to now -- and none of them are HT quality -- I'm willing to have some of the figures veer toward caricature.

Here is the cast of Silva blank...

Then I royally screwed up painting him. I was watching a movie and wasn't really paying enough attention, I guess! I'll probably wipe it tomorrow and redo it... though I may just cast another.

Doesn't look that bad to me. We've so been spoonfed by HT as to what they think is sorrect, but, at the end of the day heads are naturally different sizes anyway. As long is they're not too oversized it shouldn't really matter.

I wouldn't worry, we've all done it. I'm repainting the upper torso of a TT for my Indy and I'd stripped it so many times it was beginning to damage the plastic. Thankfully the worst of it will be under the shirt when it's done.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

So, if you want your mind blown by a sculpt / likeness of bond, head on over to the customs board. My oh my.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Maybe a link would be nice so we don't have to try and find the needle in the haystack. I'm assuming you're not talking about the Feng sculpt in your own custom thread. ;)
