We are reviewing what we have seen and what we have heard. How can I review the movie when I haven't seen it in its entirety?

Saw the trailer on Sci-Fi and wasn't really all that impressed by it. The concept is interesting but the design of the movie is a bit generic looking. Why does every advanced Alien in science fiction have to appear humanoid? They have unlimited potential going CGI, and they make the damn alien look like something from Star Trek. The proportions are off but it's still humanoid looking..

The basic story is, Jake Sully is a confined in a wheelchair, they use him to be an Na'vi avatar ...blah blah blah. Point is, theres a human controlling that Na'vi. So, if Jake is a Na'vi, and he is with the Na'vi...and the Na'vi look like big ugly bug people, you'll get problems. First being, its a love story. Jake the person probably will not be in love with a bug thing, and the audience would be repulsed by it.

They wanted the aliens to be watchable. Not repulsive, or something hidious.

how are there fanboys already for a movie that's not even out or that is still not clear what it is about?

That's what I was wondering. However, in your video you point out that you and your brother are huge Avatar fans. So I just don't understand how you can be a huge fan of something that you haven't seen yet? :dunno And in another post you basically tell people that this movie will be great.

There is no such thing as opinion on this subject, there is only fact, and the fact is that this movie will be awesome.

So I guess after a quote like that one can only make the assumption that you either helped create the movie, or have seen the final cut.

Beats me. :lol

I'm just a Cameron fan, and i'll be there on Dec 18th, because that footage was kickass. It sold me.

It happened with DK too, remember?...

Dark Knight is a whole other ball of wax. You already had an established franchise and you knew all the key players that were involved in Batman Begins were back. Second you had Ledger's premature death. So I can kinda understand the following. This is completely different in my opinion. Some people are raving about this movie like they have watched it. Even if you saw a 15 minute clip it hardly gives you enough to say that this is the best movie ever and convince me that you actually have a leg to stand on.

Again though, I keep saying it. I am excited for this movie. :banana

Not ever defending this type of behavior, but at least there it was a sequel released pretty soon after the first film with essentially the same creative team involved. This film is the first one Cameron has done in ages that wasn't a documentary of some kind, and is apparently being sold as a drastic shift from his previous films. As such, I really have no idea what to expect, beyond the cheesy-looking footage we have seen in the trailer and a couple people here saying the 3D in the theater looks great. So personally, I don't see much to go on yet.

--edit: damn you reading my thoughts, BadMoon  --

I'm getting more and more excited for this movie. I guess I shouldn't be though. I'm going to try my best to avoid all talk about this one as much as possible now.
I will probably watch the next trailer then stay away from everything. Looking at everything from the dark knight spoiled the movie for me a little the first time.

Has anybody seen the Game Trailer yet?

WOW!! Stunning graphics!! Maybe they could have worked a little on the characters tho... I hope it has a good story..and isn't that short!

The game is being done in 3D isnt it? If so that will sell me right there. Even if it is a crappy game it might look cool! :lol

I think my 52 inch will work just fine! :lol

Nope it won't! I don't have 120 hz! :banghead:banghead:banghead

3D Capabilities
According to Luc Duchaine, the game's senior international brand manager, the game will require a HDMI output and a 120Hz capable set in order to avail of 3D effects.[7] He also mentioned that the Wii version will not be in 3D - their only option for 3D on the Wii console was by using an anaglyph 3D, but Duchaine said that "anaglyph doesn't offer a quality image, and quality is synonymous with the James Cameron name."

I don't play video games much, but I have 120Hz so I might have to check this one out.

I never mentioned bug people, or repulsive, or hideous, I said non humanoid. The Na'vi look like big blue cat people with elf ears from World of Warcraft. They even have five fingers and five toes, and the female appears to have human like breasts.

I understand the love story aspect but wouldn't it be more interesting for a human in a truly alien form to fall in love with another alien? I just think the look of the aliens are a little unimaginative.
