No problem, glad to illuminate things for you

Sorry, I just couldn't resist messing with you. :lol Cameron himself has reportedly conceded the similarities between Avatar and DWW, I definitely don't think its anything to get worked up about. Its too bad that I have to make that disclaimer given how some of the back and forth about this movie has been.

I found Trek's script much more enjoyable.

Don't get me wrong- for effects and 3D, Avatar shreds. But the script? Yeh, not so much.

You said shreds! :rock

And do be gentle Carl, he was only joking!!! Joking, fer Chrisss sakes. :monkey2 :monkey2

Just went to see it for the 3rd time...this time it was on the Imax...and it was free!

It's even better in Imax! Love it!

so did you see both IMAX and non-IMAX 3D versions? I was curious if there was any noticeable difference?

I saw it twice in Real 3D...and once in the IMAX...but I sneaked in on a non-3D showing for like 10 minutes to see the difference...and all I can say is that it looks much brighter to me since I'm not wearing the tinted 3D glasses.

that I am sure of but what about difference between real 3D and IMAX 3D

Oh...well...in IMAX it seemed much sharper and u felt like u where in Pandora IMO.....Real 3D was pretty good too, i think u can see a little more of the surroundings since the screen is smaller....

But i recommend IMAX...just for the experience!

Thanks so if I have already watched it in IMAX 3D no real need to check out the other 3D version then ;) I am thinking of watching it again so I think its gonna be IMAX again.
I know the storyline is not the most innovative (and thats why I loved Dark City and Matrix and of cause TDK!) but there is no way I will ever experience this movie like this again and this time I will be ready for 3D right from the start ;)

Idk but when i was in imax everytime somthing crashed thier where liltte specs of dust flying around . Did anybody else flinch a little cuz i did. I know it was a movie but still very believable.

People have been saying that the Real 3D is better than the Imax because the Imax is too big making the picture too "fuzzy".

The RealD 3D uses better polarizing filter techniques and glasses along with a better quality screen that more accurately reflects the light. IMAX uses the older 3D technology and one thing that makes it worse is that the light polarization can be changed a bit from reflecting off the screen so the RealD screens are silver based.

Serious question but does anybody find this movie racist ? I didnt see any racism in this movie at all. It was blue vs the military.

i wouldnt call it racist per se, but this is another movie that, yet again, promotes the thinking that white is the most supreme race of all. i mean, the indigenous could not take care of themselves in the end, could they? they need the white man to act as their saviour and leader to solve their problems.

other culture-clash films like 'last samurai' has the same subtext. and everytime i see that i just want to take a dung on hollywood's doorstep.

how about a hollywood movie that shows the other races quite capable of saving their own world/culture, and have the white man just be a side character, for once?

If there's racism in this movie, it goes both ways. The heightened spirituality and superior culture of the Neytiri vs. the brutal, anti-nature exploitation of the humans is just as offensive as the suggestion that the Neytiri need a human to lead them to victory.

Would the latter have been different if Jake Sully had been played by a black actor? What about a blue one?
