Avatar Producer Talks Ultimate Edition Blu-ray

During a recent sneak preview of the Blu-ray of Avatar, producer Jon Landau revealed some more details of the ultimate edition that will come out in November. This four-disc edition will include a brand-new two-hour documentary on making Avatar, as well as unused additional scenes from the movie, which Weta Digital is now working on.

The additional scenes involve the Na'vi school run by Dr. Augustine (Sigourney Weaver), and Jake's training as a Na'vi.

Many of the bonus features in the ultimate edition will appear in the intervening months through the Avatar Program at avatarmovie.com using a unique code found inside the Avatar Blu-ray/DVD.

Avatar is also reopening in IMAX 3D in select cities this weekend.

Because it's annoying coming into a thread to get some geniuine info
about DVD release etc and I have to read through stupid comments.

I recommend a news site like thedigitalbits.com for release date info and specs. This ain't the place to avoid stupid comments. ;) If the comments of a few are upsetting you just don't respond to them. They'll get bored reposting the same pics of silly Avatar megafans (and they are pretty silly) with a laughing smiley or two at the bottom eventually. Taking issue with it just encourages them. :)

Also keep in mind that half of the rabble rousers cite Highlander or Transformers 2 as epic achievements in cinema or go out in public dressed as superheroes themselves so take their criticisms with a grain of salt. ;)

I'd say its pretty safe to say that the vast majority of us greatly enjoyed the film and are looking forward to its home release.

Maybe, but he has tinkered with SE's of a number of older films (Aliens, The Abyss, T2) without outright replacing the originals.

True, but what that still be the case if he had complete control/ownership over them like Lucas does with SW?

Is anyone gonna wait for the extended cut in november to come out ? I cant wait for the release only 2more days guys. woot woot.

Well, I'll watch the original first, I already have my DVD order in at Play.com, just waiting for it to come into stock(very excited to finally see it:rock).
Then I'll decide whether to get the EE when it comes out. I prolly will cos I like what I've seen of the film so far :rock.

For those that didn't like the film - Great, we know you didn't like it (or didn't see it but like to bash anyway). No point for you to be in this thread.

Just double checked this and Saving Private Ryan are out on the 26th so another week or so to wait.
