But you ARE bashing someone for their personal opinion. That it sucks is your opinion- not fact, as you state.
I for one also love this movie and enjoy it. So does Solidsnake here on the boards. My 8 year old kids also think this movie rocks ass over the Star Wars movies I introduced them too. Wanna fight us? :D

I bought the movie. LOL! I saw it twice in the theater. Didn't say it sucked. However, I'm certainly not jaded enough to claim it as a top 5 movie. As I have said this movie might not even make my top 100. I'm entitled to my opinion as much as the next person is entitled to proclaim it as the second coming of Christ. :lol Just because someone doesn't like that isn't my fault. Of course your 8 year olds are going to like this. They are 8! :lol

Not even on Pandora would this be a top 5 movie.

:lol :lol :lol

Well, having SOLIDSNAKE and an 8 year old making up your snap poll isn't exactly entering this debate with a full arsenal of ammo. :monkey5 :lol

Critique the movie all you want. Nobody cares whether you like it or not. But ridiculing other members about their opinions has been played out, especially in this thread. Further posts in that vein will be deleted. I'd consider your response carefully if you want anyone to actually read it. I agree with you that Avatar isn't a "top 5" movie. But to each their own.

Well I got this and finally got to watch this incredible film.

I LOVED it!!. While the story was simple I thought that made the film all the better so we could concentrate on the complex world that was Pandora.
I'm gonna watch it again obviously but my first impression is that I thought it was great.
I don't go into all this 'hidden meaning' stuff, to me sometimes people just need to sit back and remember that this is a film and enjoy the ride rather than try to find religious meanings or hidden inuendos in films. Just my opinion anyway. I like to approach them as they are, entertainment.

At the end of the day it was a great film, simple but in depth storyline, beautiful special effects and I really felt sucked in to the world. I didn't like Jake at first but really started to towards the end when he started realising there was more to his life than the 'Jarhead Clan'.

I really wish I had been able to see this on the big screen.

Any list that doesn't have my man below in it is wrong

Very impressive but in my mind the most amazing shot in film history is the nearly three minute unbroken sequence featured during the shootout at the end of John Woo's Hard Boiled. They have a shootout, enter an elevator, have a conversation, then the elevator doors open and they have another shootout on another floor, without a single cut. Amazing.

Glad you liked it! As far as the big screen goes I do believe its back in select IMAX 3D's right now and the extended version will see a wider theatrical rerelease this fall.

Thanks pal. Shame I can't go to the flicks (thats what we call the movies over here) as I bet this would be stunning at an IMAX theatre.
Yeah I'm looking forward to the Extended version also now that I have seen the original. I'll have to wait for the DVD but will be well worth the wait.:rock

Just like the deep seething hatred that's staring at Nimrod Antal's direction for Predators? I can see it coming.

I guess? Not sure what your point was. If the movie sucks, it sucks. And i'll hate it. But the script is good. The actors are good. So I dont see how it can suck.

Very excited for Predators. With any luck we will see a Predator/Navi hybrid at the end. :lol

"Want some candy?" :lol

Man, I thought I was the only person around here that liked the old John Woo films.

I actually got to watch the premiere American screening of Bullet in the Head with him in Seattle during the summer of '96. Not a lot of people really knew who he was at that time (with Hard Target and Broken Arrow being his only American films at that point) so we got to chat with him without a lot of fanfare. Awesome guy and a really incredible movie.

But why not? It's the 8 year olds that are either going to turn this into a classic or not! Just like some of us geeks here (me included), who grew up on Star Wars, and hence carried it all through my life, and still love it as an adult!
That's my point. If kids love it and are blown away, then it's done its job with that market as well.
And I mention Snake, cause he's just the most gleeful movie guy I know. Loves movies for the pure enjoyment they are, and doesn't care what other people think. And he's not afraid to say he loves every experience about this movie.
