I finally watched the movie. It was good. Not great. There wasn't anything story wise that was groundbreaking.

It was the Matrix meets Dances with Wolves.

It was a good movie and I enjoyed it, but I honestly can't see why people slobber all over it. Visually it was amazing for sure, but the story was pretty much rehashed material like everything else today.

I'm not bashing it at all. I said it was good. It's just not anything worthy of being put on gold plated film or anything.

Maybe to you but i thought it was a groundbreaking film, I loved the characters and the whole world while it's not perfect it still has a great way of telling the story. Most people say its a rehashed story but some of the greastest stories ever told have had the same story, i guess it's just how you tell them. It's much better in the theatre anyway.

I never buy the "better in the theatre" arguement. A movie is a movie. It's made to be watched. It should be just as good on a 13 inch old tubed TV as it is on an IMAX screen.

I said the movie was good. I enjoyed it, but as I also said the story was rehashed material. It wasn't "told" in any different way then any other movie. Almost everything that comes out today is rehashed from something else so I am not placing any blame on JC there. I'm just giving y opinion on the film.

Good yes......Groundbreaking and worthy being put in the top 10 films ever made? Not IMO.

Having seen films on a 13 inch old tubed TV as well as on a 50 inch plasma hooked up to a surround sound system (my present set up at home), I definitely prefer the latter format to watch a movie. However, not everyone cares for the bells and whistles. I do, though.

The Avatar big screen 3D experience war outstanding.

I agree. I have a 65 inch TV and surround set up too. I like it much more than an old 13 inch tube TV as well. I'm just saying that if a movie really is "great" then it should be great in any format. It should not only be a great film if seen with all the bells and whistles.

I dont think you're quite getting it dude.

But the only way to see this movie, is opening day at the theaters in 3D. BEFORE the Avatards took it over, and made it to be like the best movie ever made ever in the histroy of cinema.

Have our resident Avatards purchased your Digital Home Tree yet?

(BTW, Al Gore has to be having daily orgasms over this stuff now :lol )
Coincidentally, on Earth Day my part-time job sent me over to 20th Century Fox to monitor an untitled pilot. As I walked to the sound stage I noticed a group of people and some press so I went over to see what was going on...
