Every cinemas that’s digital and have the equipment for 3D will screen this in stereoscopic 3D. Cinemas still screening 35mm copies will screen it in 2D.

This is the film you have to see in 3D if you have the alternative. I saw the 18min on a regular Cinema in 3D and it was mind blowing. :google

A tips is to try to get a seat in the centre of the room …the sides appear to have a little darker pictures, if the room is very wide. :naughty

i read from someone who saw the footage on avatar day that he said there was a fly buzzing around him during the film, and he just shooed it away. a moment later he realized it was actually a 3D fly from the film.

who the hell would think about giving 3D depth to a fly??? that's how meticulous and detailed cameron is. see the film in 3D if you can. avatar is premiering in london dec 10. reviews will start coming out next week.

The game is NOT getting good reviews. :banghead

Good thing I don't care much for video games. :D

That does suck, though.

I can't wait for the first reviews to start coming out, which hopefully will be within the next week or so.

That really is too bad. It sounded like it might actually turn out to be pretty cool, especially the way JC talked about it. What exactly is wrong with it? Is it the lack of 3D or the game itself that's bad?

Ok. So I'm sure everyone here knows what this movie is about. I tried to read all the pages but there's 82 pages. So if I missed where this was discussed forgive me. But way back when the first trailer came out it was suppose to be the based on the cartoon series wasn't it? I saw the monk kid Aang on top of a pillar doing all these funky aerial moves. And now it's a movie will different creatures? When did the movie change?

Geez man, thats Last Airbender. Avatar was written way before airbender got the name Avatar for the cartoon series. Hence why their movie is called last airbender instead of avatar

Thankfully the game has nothing to do with the movie other than some backstory from years earlier. It doesnt even have the soundtrack. The graphics are meh for me after playing Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2-next to those everything looks like crap. But overall for what it is, I like the game. A bit repetitive but interesting.

At least its not as crappy as most all other movie related games. I will admit I was hoping for a bit more since they put over 2 years effort into it.

What this game really has going for it is the 3D. If you are lucky enough to own a 120hz tv you can play it in 3D which looks awesome on a big screen. Its really not a horrible game. I was just expecting better graphics and more innovation.

Makes me wonder if the movie is crappy, too. :monkey1

It's game-specific stuff that's messed up--bugs, combat is boring, overall it just isn't fun.

Even when playing the demo it was crap--there was a part where you fight a big beasty and he runs at you, but the hit detection is so bad I was like 5 feet away and he sent me flying---two hits and I was dead. That's just ridiculous.

Usually games based on movies suck--just because often time they are uninspired since the game is being forced, plus they often start the game less than a year from the release date which isn't enough time to do a good game---a movie might not be finalized until the month it comes out so games usually can't represent the movie.

But what stinks about this game is that it was supposed to break that mold of movie games that suck. I think in a small way it did but if they had the assets from the movie you would think it would have come out better. I will admit the vehicles looks really good but the peoples faces and horrific voice acting puts you to sleep. I never feel "in" the game like MW2 and Uncharted 1 & 2 which are my all time favorites

Overall just a disappointment

I remember when King Kong had the highest budget, now it's pretty much standard for a big movie to spend $200 million.

King Kong still has the record for highest number of effects shots though--something I don't think Avatar will beat.

You should find out the exact numbers. A recent Cameron interview, he talked about the effects shots and I think he mentioned how many Avatar has. And in a nutshell pretty much everyshot in the film had effects in it.
