The one guy who gave it a 2/5 on RT to bring it down to 92% thus far gave The Surrogates a 3/5. He also have the same score to movies such as Fighting (41%), Next (29%), The Reaping (9%), The Covenant (3%), and Tristan & Isolde (33% Thus has no credibility.

I'm going in expecting a 3-D version of "Dances With Wolves" set in space that will entertain me for a few hours. It doesn't need to be a game changing mind blowing blah blah blah, and I'm not building it up in that way. I just want to have a good time at the movies and welcome back one of my favorite directors after a 12 year absence.

I'm not a Cameron fan apart from the Terminator and Aliens. Both of those movies are milestones, and rightly so. I'm looking forward to seeing Avatar though, and I'm hoping it will turn out to be another milestone. I've got me doubts though as so far the plot and overall design of the film seems very hackneyed. Still roll on next week to find out.....

Popular Mechanics interview with Cameron all about the ground breaking technology. Really interesting stuff!

I'm pretty sure now that these effects are going to be amazing. :lol
The thing that worries me is wheter te story will be strong enough for this to be a cameron classic.

Avatar is going to blow us away. I just listened to a track, the title of which I will put hide since it technically gives something away:

The Destruction of Hometree

Anyway, I can get an amazing mental image of what is happening from 4:30 - 5:20 based on the title of the track and the climaxing music. It brought tears to my eyes, although music is more liable to bring me to tears than a film, but combine emotional music with an emotional scene, and you've got a cry baby.

Even if the story wasnt the best- I think the effects would be worth the ticket price. From early reviews-the majority say its a good story with heart but does pull from different movies-but they have also said its not fair to compare it to dances with wolves-too different

Funny pic from an article about the tie in with McDonalds

:lecture Exactly my thoughts.

:lecture:lecture!!
He should be on Cameron's payroll!!

He is Cameron.:D

RT originally had it at 100% but its down to 84% now although thats still 21 critics giving it the thumbs up compared to 4 down.

Dont listen to anyone else just go in with an open mind and if you enjoy it good on you and if not nothing lost.
