I'm pretty sure now that these effects are going to be amazing. :lol
The thing that worries me is wheter te story will be strong enough for this to be a cameron classic.

It's funny how people are worried about the fact that this movie even has a decent storyline attached to it.
Titanic was all about a big boat leaving a dock, hitting an iceberg...then sinking. End of story.
Yet Cameron pulled it off by giving it a subplot and decent characters and it eventually became the biggest movie in history.
I'm not worried. It looks as though Avatar has a much larger storyline than Titanic, wouldn't you say.
Soak this up, cinematic history is being made.

Oh I'd love to belive that but I've been dissapointed way to many times and I'm trying not to get excited about this.
I'll see I guess.

Rotten Tomatoes is back to 90% including this little diddy

Mr. Eberts RT review is up as well. He is gushing over it

Oh, wow! I don't always agree with Mr. Ebert's take on any particular movie, but I can't help but read his reviews (and his blog).

Good to know he likes Avatar so much. He says it made him remember his experience watching Star Wars: A New Hope. That is something!

Maybe you've just been watching too many Lucas and Spielberg movies lately, it's understandable.
But this is James Cameron, it's worth getting exited about.

After going through and reading all the reviews it seems as though the only thing it has to offer is visuals. I'm more interested in Crazy Heart anyway so I'll check this out when it hits Blu-ray.

Rotten tomatoes seems to have an agenda - they're pulling the least favorable statements out of reviews that are overwhelming positive. The negative reviews are from nobody's that shouldn't even be in the tally.

I can't say that the trailers have blown me away - but I'm more excited about seeing the film after all the positive press.

People tweeting after the premiere include Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) who said it was a game changer, Neil Bloomenkamp liked it a lot.

I can't remember a film that has polarized opinions so much even before the film has released.

Those who say that the visuals aren't enough and story should take Precedence better not have gone to see Transformers 2.

I just read a review that extolls the value of seeing a movie just to be in awe of its creation while appreciating the story for bolstering the world-building instead of compromising it ( ahem, Transformers 2). I cant see what's wrong with that.

Well, Friday at 7 I'll be there watching. Got my tickets. Haven't really paid much attention to anything positive or negative so I'll be going in with no formed opinion.
