imo, regarding the Jason discussion going on, people are confusing Reality with Movie Canon.

Movie Canon: Jason never died/drowned in part 1. He lived.

Reality: He died. But the movie was more successful than anticipated (costing $550,000 to make but grossing over $39.7 Million) so the dilemma was.. "Crap we killed the kid AND the mom.. now what!?". So they used retcon, and just resurrected Jason with a flashback of him surviving. I highly doubt (despite what the film makers might claim) that the original intention from the get go was for Jason to live and become the sequels villain. Doubt that.

So technically, everyone is right in this debate. Problem is, both sides are debating the same subject from 2 completely different POV's (Movie Canon vs. Reality).

O.K. so Jason, a mentally hadicaped child faked or survived a drowning to go in hiding from his mother living alone out in the woods? The kid just one day after "surviving" a drowning just decided to ^^^^ing run away from the one person that loved him and took care of him?????

IF this is true the filmakers should be ^^^^ing ashamed of themselves. Jason Voorhees at that moment in the water at the end of part 1 was indeed ressurected at that very moment. Thats what makes the story so spooky, he had always been at the bottom of the lake.

Explain all of the "Shining" like mold all over his face and body? What was that? Forrest dirt :D

Either way if this holds true (that he was always alive in the woods) I will bring watching Friday movies to a hault and request my user name be changed. Dead serious.

I think the way they are doing it is to have Jason almost drown, maybe wash up on the shore in the woods alone. He wakes up and tries to find his mother but can't. His Mom presumes he is dead and goes crazy...killing the counselors... Jason finally makes his way back to camp and sees his Mother beheaded. At least that is the only way I could make sense of it.

And we all know originally that Jason was supposed to be dead, they intended on him being dead.. the studios just wanted to try and bring him back for 2...which is why the story is so contradictory now.. :lol

I took my Jason outside for some atmospheric shots today, hope you guys like it!

I'll quiz you Voorhees :D
1. Why did the Pigs randomly show up?
2. How did Jason Manage to propel himself out of the water that quickly to grab her?

:lol

If you are talking about part 1 where Jason jumped out of the water...that never really happened.

UGh, I want that Jason so bad....:(

But seriously....Watch the Jason doc....the film makers couldnt give a ^^^^ about logic, and continuity. They just wanted to kill some kids, and show tits and ass. They made this very clear.

Get it changed.

Friday the 13th parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 take place over the course of 4 days, give or take. Unless Jason miraculously aged about 17 years over the course of oh, say, 2 hours, he'd always been alive. Now whether Pamela knew about that or not is another question entirely.

The Jason we saw at the end of part 1 was a dream. It's been explicitly stated that it was a dream, just something they wanted to throw in at the end to give the audience a final shock.

Besides, Jason was never intended to be the villain. Once the first movie became successful, they realized they had a way to continue it with him and the rest is history.

His Name Was Jason covers all of this.
