Yeah this is a bit overwhelming and much more intense and divided than doing vehiclesOr how about Option 253...
I'm glad I'm not Joost right now.

Hopefully it doesn't put you off making more figures after this.Yeah this is a bit overwhelming and much more intense and divided than doing vehicles
InArt went through the exact same thing.Yeah this is a bit overwhelming and much more intense and divided than doing vehicles
Yeah this is a bit overwhelming
Which brings us back to @Wor-Gar's suggestion that Joost only listen to 3-5 people on this forum.....provided one of those people is ME! (Which is what everyone who agreed with his post was thinking.)InArt went through the exact same thing.
Every new (to 1/6) company initially thinks customer interaction is a great idea to set them apart from the big dogs until an avalanche of feedback buries them in every conceivable viewpoint from a ‘community’ who argues about literally everything.
The best idea will be in the pile somewhere; you just need the willpower to dig through everything else to find it.
I like it!How about a proper magnetic base featuring a snow covered concrete wet base top as the standard base, reserving the luxury diorama for the Ultimate Deluxe Two Pack.
Removal of the Standard edition at $300 USD allows you not to worry about trying to cut it so close by spreading your resources so thin.
What’s $150 USD more if it means a proper uninhibited release?
Three headsculpts, one silicone body, eight gloved hands with metal claws, cat, taser, whip, one magnetic base.
- Standard Clean - $450 USD
Three headsculpts, one silicone body, eight gloved hands with metal claws, cat, taser, whip, one magnetic base.
- Standard Battle Damaged - $450 USD
Six headsculpts, two silicone bodies, sixteen gloved hands with metal claws, cat, taser, two whips, one magnetic base, one light up Hell Here diorama base, additional Two Pack exclusive accessory revealed later.
- Ultimate Deluxe Two Pack - $900 USD
Personally I think anything $350
and under would be a spayed release, so why offer it.
It hinders everyone involved, if $400+ is too much then there will be other options eventually. If people want to know the honest answer, Full Metal would have charged you easily that very $300 USD if you were to get those claws from him directly.
Could of bought this Catwoman with the Ledger knife I purchased.
With both the individual releases being $450 along with the two pack being $900, that equals out both ways for the collector to decide what bases they want for the same unaltered $900 USD either route they want to take. In total you’re looking at a clean three SKU release spread.
Is it clear though? If Joost let me pick the sculpt for the standard/basic clean & BD releases I'd choose paying $375-$400 for each ($750-$800 in total) rather than spend the extra $$ to get additional sculpts I likely won't use and a fancy base I don't need. And I'm likely not the only one who feels this way. Plus no doubt there are many who simply want a clean, iconic looking Catwoman that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. They'll likely pay more than Joost's initial target of $300 to get one, but 50% more? That might make them wait to see what HT and InArt will do.Whichever route they decide to go, I think it’s clear anything below $400 and above the $1k mark would be dead in the water which makes sense to delete a tier.
I'll admit that I think ALL of the BD sculpts are excellent and I'll pay for them with no regrets if I have to, but conversely I'm feeling pretty meh about all 3 clean sculpts right now. I'm still pretty confident that Joost will make sure at least one of them will look great by the time we have to order but less so about the other two, which is the impetus for my suggesting that he allow us to select which sculpt we want for a basic release. It’s three headsculpts, (battle damaged has hair) a seamless silicone body with real stitch work throughout on a durable material with accurate sheen, a whip (possibly can look into using real materials instead of plastic) metal claws and a classy magnetic base.
Hot Toys is not giving us this for under $400.
You’re probably in the minority in only wanting one sculpt per figure for a Pfieffer Catwoman, most would like to exercise her unique expressions, if we’re not getting rolling eyes, then this is far better than faceplates.
I agree about likeness, so far, Battle Damaged is the clear home run but I gotta see suit progress!I'll admit that I think ALL of the BD sculpts are excellent and I'll pay for them with no regrets if I have to, but conversely I'm feeling pretty meh about all 3 clean sculpts right now. If he gets as many orders as we’ll have pages in this thread come the end of September he’ll be swimming in money lol.
At least you know that all the knuckleheads in here (myself included of course) that are constantly debating the in and outs of the process and the figure will be buying your Catwoman. So... there's that...
Are they going to make a zoe Kravitz Catwoman? That would be awesome!Hopefully it doesn't put you off making more figures after this.
We still need a Zoe Kravitz Catwoman
After the ‘89 suit, Begins suit and fully diecast Tumbler. Are they going to make a zoe Kravitz Catwoman? That would be awesome!
