My camera sucks. This is the best I could do to take shots of Carsia, and some of my work in progress. I will see how I feel about the Megos tomorrow, if they need another layer of paint. I don't know what happened to Kirk, but his skin is not as smooth as I want.

Angel are you sure you still want to buy this sculpt? Looks kinda rough to me. I will probably fill in some of those lines with Apoxie. Very severe looking but not anything that cannot be fixed with a little tweaking.

I smoothed out her brow ridges and added more paint. I think I need to make her a couple of shades darker.

Wow. I better rent the movie "In the Mood for Love" by Wong Kar Wai just so I could watch the hot fashions!!

Someone found this on Facebook:

Crazy monkey me is currently hairing up some lace to recreate a wig. I'll see how it goes. It's going to take a VERY long time. I hope I can finish by May. Right now I am gluing batches down with liquid latex. When I get to the hairline, I am planning to hand tie about an inch worth of hair all around the edges...maybe two hairs at a time.

I was able to find real human hair in the correct color, so this will be slip-knotted onto the lace two hairs at a time...It's a major time suck...If you're wondering what monkey business I am up to, this be it.

I know this is not ape related, but it's costume related and it's never too early to start thinking about Halloween. I found a possible costume that I can pull off simply because I am Asian. So...here it could be...Chun Li! :naughty

I just have to buy a bright blue Cheong Sam and modify it. And spray paint my silver boots white. Wow. That's gonna be easy to pull off. Besides, I am my own custom!

Here's something else I found on the internet that I found particularly funny:

So my tool finally arrived for venting lace. I'm so excited! Last night I practiced for about two hours and got about one inch accomplished, tying hair to lace two strands at a time with this tool. Not sure if the hair I bought is long enough to be combed over and blended into the main wig. I'll stop by the hair store again on my way back to work from school.

It's mindless and mind-numbing, really. The only solace I get from doing this is that it's a "hobby" and at least my paycheck doesn't rely on it.

I was able to buy two packages of 18" human hair in the right color. I'm going to work on my wig pattern tonight and start this mongo time sucker. Yay!!

Sucks to be poor. I want to buy this collector's item but it's $450. Ooof. Big kick in the guts.

Wow. So I put in 15 hours into hair tying. Sometimes I cheat and tie up three hairs at a time instead of two hairs with one knot. I have a LONG way to go before I complete the forehead part of the wig. DANG!

All ape work has been put on hold until I finish this mongo blanket for my friend's baby shower.

Love the weave on that Jess. You're so talented! That's gotta be the largest baby blanet I ever saw! Is she having triplets? :anya2

No. It's her first baby.

I saw this lady's sweater at Joanne's and she said that it was a very easy pattern to make, just ribbing going horizontal and vertical. I thought about what she said because I didn't have a real pattern to follow to tell me how many stitches to use so I kinda made it up as I went.
