Antioch was a blast. It was sooooo great to see Planet of the Apes on the big screen. It's something you don't see everyday. I think I have to shampoo and restyle the wig EVERY time I need to wear it. It was hard to get the perfect shape since it was already as hard as a helmet.

Those are amazing shots... your costume came out superbly! And you got some cute kids to share all this insanity with :rock :rock :rock

Thanks. But on a side note, I should have started earlier with my second-born son. He refused to let me make him lunch while in costume, even though I swore I would not put any hairs in his food. The punk.

I plugged up the holes of this Bruce Lee with clay and fired it with a BBQ lighter.

I still have to work on finalizing his eyes. It's difficult to paint it because the eyes are not the same size...so you have to fake it with painting.

Time to resurrect this project! Dr. Zaius gloves...

Needed to trim the leather and fit to my fingers:

Much better fit!! :banana:banana:banana

Now to find the other pair of gloves I bought so I can make the distinctive hieroglyphs, and then sew back in the cashmere lining. Soon I'll have something to admire when I'm stuck in traffic.

Nope. Still tweaking the Bruce Lee. His skin tone is a little chalky at the moment, but I plan on reworking it to add more pinks and flesh tones.

This is Zira and Bruce Lee together. As you can see, 1:6 totally dwarfs Mego scale. I am amazed I was able to get the eyes to look like the way they do, and I did it without a magnifying glass.

Still futzing with Bruce Lee.

Here is how he looks now. I also did minor eyelid surgery on his left eyelid because in reality a good paint job cannot hide a bad sculpt....or my painting skills are just not that great yet to fool the eye.

I've got so many ongoing projects I don't know where to begin. So finally I decided to complete just one tiny project and send it out. Dr. Zaius is sporting a short sleeved sweater I quickly sewed together from a pair of toddler socks just so he wouldn't be topless in the photo. These are a pair of Mego-sized jeans. Did you know that the pockets do work? If I had a Mego-sized billfold wallet I would have placed it in one of his back pockets.

Here's a photo of me holding hands with my first love. Thank you Dave Ballard for such a wonderful surprise. I will treasure it until the end of my days.

Whoa...I live literally 10 minutes from this theater and had no clue that they were showing POTA. :(

That costume is fantastic.

Thank you Apemania for the child-sized gorilla foam latex appliances (including the extra ones for practice), the Cornelius plaques to keep the kids out of my monkey hair for awhile, and the General Ursus helmets. I will be busy cranking out the deluxe pullover hoods for my lovely gorillas and their outfits just in time for Halloween.

I also ironed out Nova's hair. Thank you Dr. Zaius for my Nova and Taylor. I am such a lucky chimp!! I think the Sideshow Nova really has potential now of looking like Linda Harrison. Someday I'm going to repaint her and maybe even rehair her if I find the right kind of shade for her hair:

When was the last time I have sculpted? It's been so long I can't remember. For fun and practice, and to test myself, I thought I would try this cartoony character.

Here's what he's supposed to be:

"cartoony character"!? c'mon Jessica. That's Link from "The Legend of Zelda". People were trying to commission a sculpt and clothes for a 1/6 scale figure here before that whole section got vamoosed! :lol

Nice work so far btw.

Umm...I know I could bang out his clothes...but I would need to find time. And what does vamoosed mean? It burned brightly then futzed and died? If that is the case, then I am late to the party again, but what else is new? :lol

:lol:lol:lol Yeah Vamoosed = To leave hurriedly. Disappear quickly. Not sure if those people are still trying to commission a 1/6 scale Link figure now!?

Had to re-do the face to fit a smaller body. :monkey2 Still working on the face. He's starting to look like an alien.
