Likeness is still only about 80% there for me, but I do agree it's better than the last set of pics, and I see more of Reeve in the eyes now. And if I did order this I'd be a lot more comfortable with my purchase.
InArt’s Superman duo set is probably the next best candidate for a quality Reeve product.Agreed cking, from the neck down it's perfection, so based on that alone it is hard to pass up on this version just because you're waiting for something potentially better to come along. That may happen of course, but even if it does happen it could be 10+ years down the line.
I'll definitely be repainting Indy's fedora when it arrives, based on the prototype. It's just the wrong color IMO.Agreed re: Clark's hat. First thing I'll do when I get mine is hit it will some dull coat to take off the shine. It's supposed to be a fur felt Fedora and should not be shiny like they've got it. That's about the only thing I could find fault with costume-wise on both. (Hope they don't make Indy's Fedora shiny too)!
I do think that Clark looks amazing though.
Well it is a little better than 60 but I agree with them. It is Reeve's stunt man. The statue just lacks everything which made Reeve Superman. There is no charm or expression here. Just an empty look on the face. Some people are saying there is only a 60% likeness on the Superman. I...just...do...not...understand these comments when it looks SO good to my eyes.
There you go. This is Reeve. JND is a miss in my eyes. Some people are saying there is only a 60% likeness on the Superman. I...just...do...not...understand these comments when it looks SO good to my eyes.
It’s interesting that you say that b/c the very company who commissioned that sculpt for their own limited custom 1/3 scale statue run (NewDreamProps) posted that they think JND’s is the best, specifically the face. “Where we think they have achieved it is still the face”There you go. This is Reeve. JND is a miss in my eyes.
We're all different. I personally love it and am very happy I kept my pre-order. I've been in close conversation with NewDreamProps about his version and although I admire his passion and commitment, it's never going to have the realism that I'm looking for, which the JND version gives in volumes. It will be interesting to see what NewDreamProps updated version looks like because he has already said that he is aware of a lot of flaws on their first prototype, so the newer one could be much better but even then, it will be painted resin with painted eyes and sculpted hair which isn't what I want for my personal display statue. There you go. This is Reeve. JND is a miss in my eyes.
