The ability to brag to the rest of the world about how benevolent & wonderful they are to anyone that will listen....................the reality is far different.

You have no clue at all. I can understand you not liking the Iraq war, but you're getting a bit carried away.

Yeah, bragging rights......those are worth millions of lives over the years and trillions of dollars!

:slap

The thing about the Iraq war I disliked was that the UK blindly followed the USA instead of telling them to get lost and sort it out themselves.

If the USA wants to fight wars all the time to keep the arms industry going that's fine. I just don't want to see my country dragged along for the ride when there's bigger problems at home that need sorting out.

All the money spent on going to war could have been much better utilised in doing something about the mass unemployment situation and kicking out the scrounging immigrants.

You are completely full of it.

Not only do we waste our money, our time and our lives helping the rest of a world that can barely wipe its own ass, we don't even deserve good will in return?

:dunno

Russia wanting to go to war with the U.S. is absolutely laughable.

Who said that?

Yes, the U.S. has picked on weaker enemies in the past for one reason or another, because they could. I'm sure the UK would never do such a thing *cough*Faulklands*cough*

The falklands war was fought in defence of a british island from an argentinian invasion. Not sure what your getting at there.

To take another British example here, look no further than Neville Chamberlain's behavior at Munich. That worked out really well, didn't it?.

Can you really blame the guy for trying everything in his power to avoid another world war.

Yeah, I never saw any fault in Britain's court for the Falklands. I know Crass didn't like it very much, but I don't think they liked anything.

I don't think the US has picked on weaker enemies because it could, at least to my knowledge. However, the US has picked on "enemies" for interests different than those they told the public. Iraq and Panama come to mind as two good examples.

I'd love to believe that anyone had any clue what the reason was for going into Iraq, other than to make it look like we were doing 'something'.

Why did we go into Panama? To arrest Noriega?

you've been bush whacked.:lol
he was clueless as hell too.:lol

Not when a large percentage of it's citizens look down on the rest of the world and display such levels of ignorance about other cultures and ways of life.

There's also a big difference between goodwill and the sort of blind devotion many Americans seem to think should be the norm from other countries.

Contrary to that kind of viewpoint America doesn't own the world, they didn't invent everything and they aren't always justified in many of their actions.

The U.S. can't afford any more wars.

This crsap between north and south goes on all the time.

yeah l say let them go at it if they want, as long as it does not escalate into other countries being pulled in. the U.S. cant afford another war right now, financially or with man power, unless bush steps back in power, then the rockets will be flying. :lol

but there will be another global war again someday l bet. the human race is just to divided and dumb, we never learn from are mistakes. crazy Iran wanting a nuke to bomb Israel to awake the next imam to then bring peace to the world. Pakistan has lots of nukes which is being over run by terrorist. North Korea wanting a nuke, which l do not think they have the technology for.

you put these together, and a million other problems, something will happen one day. lets hope not though.

Don't forget the Philippines...:lecture

Still waiting to see all that oil we invaded Iraq for.

yeah. you think after that oil in the U.S. would be cheap. just like Chris Rock said about invading Iraq for oil. " we invade a country for oil, then why is oil so damn expensive. if l invaded Kentucky Fried Chicken, chicken will be cheap at my house. ":lol
