It's posts like the one's on the previous couple of pages that makes me wish the US would become isolationists again.

The US just gets criticized for trying to keep tyranny at bay, so I say screw it, let dictators overrun the place, let psychopaths obtain nukes, let poorer countries deal with the aftermath of floods and earthquakes, cause it certainly isn't appreciated.

I disliked the USA long before I ever watched that programme.

I sometimes wonder whether that would have been a better outcome as I wouldn't have to live in a world dominated by arrogant bullies like America who risk world peace every time they get involved in other countries affairs.

One day they'll inevitably pick a fight with someone who's capable of fighting back ie China and they'll get a much deserved kick in the balls. The only sad thing will be the fact I'll never get to see it as the UK/Europe will get wiped out in the first strike.

That is one of the dumbest things I have ever read on this board.

A big percentage of US citizens couldn't even find the countries they go to war with on a map but they'll still sit round the TV cheering on Team USA as they "kick ass".

I object to the UK's relationship with the USA because it makes us targets for terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda.

It depends on the attitude of individuals.

If for example we had to deal with condescending, loudmouthed American tourists that come here and constantly complain about how everything is so different compared to "back home" then we'd rightly get a bit tired of it.

On the other hand if said tourists came here and took the time to educate themselves about the differences in our cultures and accept them we'd be much more welcoming.

It's the ignorance and arrogance displayed to the rest of the world that causes much of the hatred for America..........it's OK for you to look down on everyone else and try and force your way of life on other countries but the moment anyone tries doing the same thing you declare them "evil" and start a war.

Which perfectly illustrates what I mean about American ignorance.........whatever stereotypes shows like that come up with are taken literally by their audience and they think that's what that race of people is actually like.

I may exaggerate some of what I've said but I see no real benefits for the UK in following the USA so blindly and the attitude of SOME ( not all ) of their citizens that I've experienced both in the real world and online has also lead to my indifference of the nation as a whole.

In fairness it's not like my own country is any better, the number of knuckle dragging morons that instigate violence over something as unimportant as a game of football is almost as embarassing as your last president and the politicians are just as retarded.

No, I was just using that as an example of the sort of attitude which can lead to bad feeling.

I don't like some ( again not all ) Americans because they're arrogant, full of their own self importance, ignorant of other cultures and ways of life, want to start wars with any country that won't "convert" to their way of life and despite all their political correctness are still one of the most bigoted nations on the planet.
