Personally, no. I want someone a little less famous and more old looking. Depp's a good actor, but he is so damn well known.

I used to really like Glover, but his cult following is getting out of control. I think he would never be in a Nolan film to be honest. He can only do one voice and his mannerisms rarely change in his films. He doesn't have a lot of range IMO. He was awesome as Willard, but let's be honest, a creepy loner who lives with rats is kind of right up his alley. I hates him in Beowulf.

On another note, I'd love to see what Josh Brolin could do with the role.

Daniel Day-Lewis has my vote, although maybe not as the Riddler but as some villain, he would rock faces off.

Depp is a great actor and could pull it off but I'm not so sure he's the right guy to play the Riddler. I'd almost like to see them cast an unknown or at least a little known actor in that part.

I agree with TheMike about the character. I want to see the exact opposite of Carrey's Riddler. Someone really devious and smart. Someone to help really put the Detective back in the Dark Knight.

i thought it was fact. because it's not going to happen. he has the gangster movie coming. the lone ranger coming ..another pirates movie. and the dark shadows role ..so batman does not look like it would be there..

I love Johnny Depp but I feel like he is a tad overused at this point. I would prefer that they go after a B lister and let them really make the character their own. The Riddler is always played goofy, I'd like a 180 degree turn in this one, I was the sociopathic Riddler that really gets under Batman's skin like we've seen a couple of times in the comics. Whereas Joker is hand on most of the time, The Riddler's power really comes from afar, he is a hand off kind of villain and uses intellect instead of blunt force.

Now that Batman is on the run from the cops, trying to redeem himself in Gotham's eyes, it'd be great to have a villain who recognizes this, and uses it to their advantage against batman every step of the way.

I absolutley agree. He's been in alot of good stuff but he's not a great actor. ppl dote over him more than Bale and Bale is by far a more commited and better actor. He will starve himself to play a skinny guy,he will walk around for days talking like a gangster to get his voice down etc... Depp wasn't anything special until Jack Sparrow and now all the little girlies think he's hot so he's the next big thing.

I like Depp but there's alot of hype behind him that he isn't deserving of.
