depp could pull it off (see the joker GN they based nygma on depp), tennant could pull it off as long as he doesn't go into carey territory.
i was thinking, now hear me out, michael emerson of lost. he's got that whole manipulative know it all down pat. the big crazy eyes also add to the mania of the character.
RUMOR has it, nolan's riddler is a man obsessed with the id of batman. an up and coming detective in gpd turns to him in a ploy to catch batman off guard.

Jesus, I was thinking the exact same thing watching Lost season 4 this week! I love that man and he would be a creepy as hell Riddler.
he was killer as cousin oliver in that brady bunch x files.

I love that episode of the X-Files also. The guy has serious talent and I could see him getting under Batman's skin. Hell, he gets under my skin and I know he's just acting

How can you not like Depp, but he is overused. And his Jack Sparrow quickly went from amusing to dreadfully repetitive.
Bottom line is, if Nolan thinks it is a good choice (be it Depp or whoever else), then I trust him.

I honestly think Johnny Depp as the ridler is a bad idea. Bring back Jim Carey!

Depp is too obvious a choice. Hopefully Nolan finds someone as totally unexpected as Ledger was...hard to get that kind of lightning twice, but going with someone like Depp for the Riddler would be boring...do we really want to see that character turned into some fey, prancing ordinary oddball like he's already done several times? Please, no...

I think the huge mistake everyone will make if/when the riddler is cast is expecting a Joker Ledger calibur performance. That's just an unrealistic expectation IMO and you will be let down. There are reasons why Ledger connected so well with the audience, mostly because of the character of joker. I doubt riddler will bring that kind of flavor.

Enough Depp already. I want to see new talent....
Depp would be great if the did the Riddler as a much, much darker character. I am not interested in seeing the buffoon they used to do with the character. Hes more of a dark, subtle type mastermind as of late. (I am thinking the Hush storyline)
