Dinosaur Protection Group website says they rounded up all the Sorna animals and brought to Nublar. Meanwhile making the Island blow up a situational thing of losing the dinosaurs all together...

I have 5 problems with this...

1. Why the **** you'd move them to start with...

History doesn't repeat itself but it rhymes. And Malcolm is back so I guess he'll be the only voice of reason in the entire movie.

So what I missed here??? :lol

Is the hype real or no?

JW was a blast (for me). I'm looking forward to this.

Side note: I had no idea that it was Spino skeleton. That's pretty cool. lol

Honestly I'm hyped for anything jurassic park. I just enjoy dinosaurs. I was even excited for JP3 back then. I like the series even with it's ups and downs

Same here, I’ve loved dinosaurs since I was a kid and it’s just fun to have movies with them, I don’t hold any film in this franchise on a pedestal to measure all others, there’s good and bad in all of them, even the original gets boring between act 2 and 3, it has merit making a point but I can’t stand the flea circus scene especially.

I liked the first one, seeing the park working the way it should, at least for a while, was something I always wanted to see since JP1

I'm not hyped about this, not really, I'm mostly curious. I'm more interested about seeing the dinosaurs on the big screen again than anything.

Yep I agree. I find the JP series to be fun overall with the 3rd film being the worst but still not bad.

The original is best because it was actually intense. The T-Rex scene is one of the all time greats. It is by far the most complete film.

JP2 gets a lot of grief but it has some great characters and the film score is better then the original. In some ways I find this the best of the bunch. Ian Malcom's daughter is the worst part of this film.. Oh and Vince Vaughn (Who I normally love) is the real villain in this film. All the deaths can be pretty much be placed on him with all of his ecoterrorism. That includes the T-Rex rampage in the city since Roland was going to kill the Rex but Vince stole his bullets.

JP3 Alan Grant is great and most of the Dino effects are great. It was just more of the same but not nearly as good.

JW was fun and I don't get the hate. Now I have only seen it 2x in the theater and have not watched it again on Blu ray yet but I have watched parts and it still seems fine. There is not much new you can do with Dino's on an island and this film found something a little different.

Personally I am looking forward to the new film.

It's probably more for nostalgic reasons really. Nothing will beat being a 6 year old kid seeing dinosaurs on a movie screen for the first time. Movies lose that magic as you get older, hence why most of the people on this forum hate every movie that comes out nowadays.

Or being a 22 year and seeing Dino's on the screen for the first time.

Jurassic Park was the last time I truly felt like a kid in the theaters. There have been a few films which have had a part or two but Jurassic Park really had me giddy all the way through.

I've actually warmed to TLW over the years, even though there's some real awfulness in there.

Roland Tembo is the coolest character in the series.

Yep. I was very disappointed in TLW back when it first got released.. It took a few viewings and some time away before I realized that its actually a pretty good film. Much of that is due to Roland. The cgi in that film is also amazing. The Raptors look fantastic.

I agree with everything you said Jaws.

JP will always be my favourite and it literally terrified me as a kid when I first saw it.

Lost World is easily the second best in the series for me. It does have a fantastic score (why oh why is not on Spotify!!) and some of the scenes were also really tense (T-rex, cliffs and trailers is a brilliant mix and I also enjoy the raptor sequence minus gymnastics). Watching it as kid I was completely rooting for Roland and found Vince Vaughn's character to be very annoying and misguided in his efforts (this film would never get made nowadays what with the PC activists inadvertently causing the deaths of loads of the human characters). Kelly was a bit of a misstep but it was good to have Malcolm back even if he was neutered (and quite understandably so) by his experience in the first movie. Lost World also told a different story to JP which was admirable as they could have easily just tried to replicate it (bit like JP3 and JW).

JP3 is my least favourite. Added nothing new to the franchise other than a few cool dino scenes. The spinosaurus killing the T-rex really irked me haha. It also destroyed Grant's character arc from JP - listening to interviews with Joe Johnston it seems to me that he didn't understand the subtleties of JP at all... poor choice for director.

JW was an overall fun movie going experience. It's not as deep as JP or LW but it was good to have dinosaurs back on the big screen again (dino movie drought may have lowered my standards a bit haha). Ever since I saw JP, I always imagined what it would be like to have a fully realised operational park so it was cool to see it finally in action. The movie is stuffed full of fan service but mostly of the good kind (T-rex smashing through the spinosaurus skeleton is a top example). However, there was definitely an over reliance on CGI (sadly like most films these days) and not enough practical effects which may hurt it's re-watchability as the film ages.

I'm keen to see FK but they can't rely on fan service so heavily this time around (especially as JW wasn't that long ago). The indo raptor looks suitably creepy so far (I really hope they've actually made an animatronic version and it's not all CGI). From the trailer, the plot looks a bit ropey but at least they appear to be trying something a bit different (hopefully it's not just a soft reboot of the Lost World). Most importantly the toy line looks great haha!

Yep we defiantly seem to see eye to eye on these films. Your JP tastes seem to be right on :)

I need to get if a few more views then. I agree that it grew on me with time, but first impressions were not great.

Looks like I may have to revisit this one soon.

I really liked the concept, but it was hard for me to see the Malcolm character be the star.

The key to a good lead in JP is being the voice of reason in the story for the audience. Grant, Malcom and Owen all show respect for dinosaurs and their abilities and try hard to keep everyone else in check, so you root for them because you’re thinking the same things.

I didn't root for anyone in JW. Awful characters, awful acting. Even if they were eaten by a dino I wouldn't care because dino's look really fake nowadays.

Yea well you tend to have a negative mindset when it comes to modern movies lol

Whilst I generally agree with your comment in relation to the human characters, I did care for Rexy and Blue when they fought the Indomnus Rex haha. I also felt bad for the British assistant lady.
