The worst issue with that whole final boss battle is all this chaos is going on and all the human characters are so incredibly far removed from the CGI that you don't feel they're even in danger.

:dunno

Lol that part was so ****ing stupid. Lmao

It seems like a lot through that scene the Rex has a broken jaw. :lol

It moves very unnatural.

Look at ILM's work with the first couple JP's and everything moves like it's a skeleton covered in flesh. Everything in this moves like rubber dinosaur toys. It's probably due to the fact that ILM originally used Tippett's puppets to get a feel for the motion of them, and recorded the movement with wireframe armatures.

That floating Leia was one of the worst cinematic experiences I've ever been a part of. You could feel the awkward tension in the theater.

I'd bet it would of been one of those situations where you feel embarrassed even though it has nothing to do with you :lol Even seeing the scene on YT without any context gave me ****** chills.

Who knows what the budget was on JW, I'm sure with being the most CGI in the franchise, not everything could be up to par compared to a movie that balances close to 50/50 between practical and CGI.

I don't think that's correct. The problem with JW's CGI is that it was too much detail put into them. Now, that isn't neccesarily a bad thing mind you... the problem is they completely don't know how to illuminate dinosaurs like they did in 93. Sure they look good in front of the backgrounds since they're CGI as well :lol

Less is more. And nothing is going to change that.

One thing I really hate about their choices in this new series is how they animate the eyes. Like the Rex specifically... they're too dragon like.

What the hell was wrong with this?

Jurassic-Park-5-008.jpg

That it needed to be this?

Again, everything is complicated for the sake of complication. Everything is too shiny and reflective.

Maybe I'd feel different about it if they actually went with the color scheme of the original instead of this impostor version.

SP totally agree.. CGI has been so HD that the 3D modelers forget shadow, light and texture distortion. I shouldn't see a damn pebble abrasion of skin detail on a rex 50 feet away...

latest

When I look at this scene right here for instance, the added film grain, the lighting, texture and movement is so fluid... It actually looks REAL. And it's a mystery to me how such a "NEW" technological advancement was Mastered in such a short time by ILM by time the Millennium hit CGI was turned into a beta stage of the program with ****** CGI. :cuckoo: It makes no sense unless someone in ILM doesn't no jack **** on how to use the tools to the fullest... which I think is simply put, they aren't investing time and effort to make fluid CGI...

Yeah you're onto something there. Sometimes the more detail and more complication they try to achieve, ultimately the more dated some CGI ends up being.

I shouldn't see a damn pebble abrasion of skin detail on a rex 50 feet away...

This is exactly what I'm trying to convey. They don't leave anything for the audience's eye to fill in. And by doing so, you see how ****ing fake it is. Even up close, it's just too damn busy.

Ultra HD and dinosaurs do not mesh, and will never will.

The end scene to JP where Grant and company run out of the visitor center... watch it again and look at the Rex's right foot. It looks like it's floating in mid air to me. But that being said, it's still far more convincing to me since its being mapped over an actual set and illuminated to match the said set.

Now, we have incredibly fake looking backgrounds with overly designed diarrheasaurs. The human characters never look like they exist in the same level of reality as them. The whole JW final boss fight is embarrassingly bad in that regard.

they're afraid for their lives.

This was the Attack of the Clones of JP films. Their """""acting""""" is awful, and the blame should be placed that everything is on a green screen.

The dino side is fun, unrealistic and over-the top.

This statement contradicts what even makes JP interesting. Dinos are fun, but when you turn it into CBM video game ****, it turns to dust.

I clapped! :clap
